Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I really like what Pochettino says and what he seems to believe in, I'm still not sure that he's all that as a coach though. But then, I'm usually not sure on the ability of coaches in general; it's so difficult to read what's going on behind the scenes and what they are actually doing.

A player is pretty easy to watch and have your opinion about, a coach is the opposite, too many parameters!

I think he is all that as a coach, in fact that's what most excites me.

He's done well with the players he's had. People forget how much better we're playing than the last 2 seasons which were horrible. They last 2 seasons make the poor results of this season look scintillating. Takes a lot of work on the training ground to turn things around.

I do not think Europa League will have much of an impact if we'll play our U21/fringe players in those matches.
Exactly. That's one of the reason why I'm all for the Europa League.

Just use it to develop our youngsters and give game time to fringe players. I really wana see the likes of Pritchard, Alli, Velji, Ceballos, mini-Bale etc getting plenty of minutes next season. It's gonna give valuable experience to them, and plus the club will still be making precious money from it. Just dont take our first teamers/star players (like Kane, Eriksen, Lloris etc) to those away (group) matches, so then there can be no excuse for mental or physical fatigue.

The EL's pros outweighs it's cons, imo ... so we ought to be gunning for it.

Poor Guy. He can expect the final say, but there is no history to suggest he will get the final say....but plenty to suggest he won't.

Of course it does. It effects the amount of time a manager has to prepare for the next game; the opposition has had at least 3-4 more days to review videos, coach the players, find weaknesses and so on.

When at Southampton Poch use to have a practise match Mid-week, to put into practise the tactics he had been teaching them through training. This is no longer possible due to Europa League, as he has to prepare a completely different group of players for a different game, before getting back on Friday-Sat and having 1 day to prepare the squad.

There's been several times this year when we've played 11 reserves in EL and looked shit on the Weekend. It's not down to tired players, it's down to lack of preparation and a fatigued coaching team.

Got to win our last 2 games to avoid our worst points tally for 6 years. I personally feel we would of faired better under Sherwood, shame we never gave him more than 6 months but there you go the " you.ll never win nothing with an English manager " brigade got their wish

I don't see any reason that an English manager can't do well, just didn't think then that Sherwood was the long term answer. Still think that.

Sack him now and I'm worried we'll start next season with pretty much the same squad. Let him try a season with a group of players that suits him. If it's the same situation a year from now then there's no excuses though.

Look, there are still questionable decisions that Poch makes. His team selection from the outset was definitely one that raised some eyebrows. Additionally, even though there are exceptions, he has been practically unwilling to make early substitutions all season. Everyone watching would have been very pleased to see Vlad not come back after the half. The team clearly just did not care to win this game and it was obvious from the moment they kicked off.

Poch and company have a seriously busy summer ahead of them. They need to lock down the signings they want in the end of May or early June. Take the time to reflect on the season and see where things went well and where things went wrong. Fix the problems that are present and don't just coat over them.
