Player Micky van de Ven

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think that everyone is forgetting that Sherwood is the one who invented Harry Kane and is single handedly responsible for him being the player he is today.

If he says Van de Ven is made out of wood then who are we to question him.

The question is, what type of wood is he made out of? Birch, oak, pine, maple, walnut, cedar, elm, teak, hickory, beech, mahogany, douglas fir, sweet cherry, poplar, ash, spruce, alder, for or is he some sort of MDF or ply? We must know more. What varnish/oil do we need to use to maintain him. Sherwood needs to come out and fucking elaborate. Fucking bullshit punditry giving us half answers to questions no one fucking asked.

Don't fret, young grasshopper.

He was obviously very nervous, and kept passing back to Vicario, like Ange said we should remember that he's young and still finding his feet in a new team, in a new league.

Nervy opening 25-30, I thought.

But after that? Pretty much faultless. Lovely bursting run in that second half too. Absolutely oozes class on that ball

He’s some boy. Couple of oopsies early on but settled into the game and played very well.

All of a sudden our defence doesn’t look half bad!

(please no injuries, please no injuries, please no injuries)

Looking very assured in 2nd half.

One passage of play I loved when he was on the edge of ManU's penalty box joining the attack with a few passes, and so unexpected that it took a few minutes for ManU to try to close him down, after which he dropped back to a more conventional centre back position.

It looks like that's part of Ange brief to him - just as LB Ben Davies caused our 2nd goal by standing in the centre of the ManU penalty box and although he scuffed his shot the ManU defender hurrying to try to mark him turned the ball into his own net.

Having defenders confident enough to join the attack and contribute with good passing as Van de Ven has shown he can do will help give us that extra edge. Great signing imo

Didn’t notice him much yesterday.

That’s a good thing btw.
He did have a fair few dodgy moments in the first half, and was nowhere to be seen for pretty much all the defensive set pieces.

I hope he learns to use his immense height better for headers. I noticed he has a very amateruish technique when jumping. Unlike Romero who proper winds up and flings himself up to win the headers.
