Player Micky van de Ven

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Best centre backs pairing in the country.

Get sent off and it's the club's fault. Out of position, it's a lack of continuity. Both deserve better clubs. Poor duo having to play with sub-standard players.

We are so lucky to have both players.

You're so incredibly short sighted, these players couldn't give a fuck because this club is a shit show...everyone can see it apart from you, why?

Every player who is decent at this club managed to either down tools or become completely disillusioned and seek a way out this club when the club aren't matching their ambition, how haven't you learnt this yet? Happened with Kane, Bale, Berbatov, Modric, Walker...all wanted to leave because the club was stagnating or going backwards or weren't matching ambition - some wouldn't even turn up for training and downed tools during matches, it's nothing new, these two are playing at a club who finished one place outside the relegation zone last season and a similar position this season or perhaps even worse - They are not on the same ability as those players I just mentioned but they are clearly better then the level this club is at now.

The club needs to shape the fuck up if it's ever going to be a force again, blaming the players is just completely missing the point, good players don't want to stick around bad environments.

Ok.

You haven’t got a clue! 😂

They’re a major reason we’re down where we are!

Look at the players in the teams around us that are putting in a shift and fighting to elevate their teams up the table, yet our bunch of pussies sulk because they think they’re above us!

'A major reason' lols, mate :solankefacepalm:

Anyway you're an absolute bad faith shithouse when it comes to this debate especially Romero so I'm not even going to respond to you on this subject ever again, goodnight ;) x

Yes they are a major reason when you look at the various managers they’ve underperformed for and their crappy attitude.

lol oh the irony!

You’ve openly admitted you’ve dropped into various threads just to troll and drop hand grenades to cause an argument, so don’t lecture me about posting etiquette! 😂

Folks really want a future with Danso and Dragusin as our CB's, our fans are just addicted to mediocrity it seems, sad :moursad:
The solution to all our problems is ENIC selling up but they are parasites.

We can all talk about Romero and Micky but they are the least of our problems, and I say that as a Romero critic, but whilst he received red cards against Pool and United, he has scored some vital goals, doing what the attack cannot do at the moment.
Romero can make up for these missed games once he returns, and keep us up.

Radu has just returned from an ACL so expecting a competent performance against Woolwich is asking for too much to be honest. Probably not good enough anyway.

Danso is a decent centreback as a squad option in my opinion.

100% this mate.

We have some posters on here who just want any cause to slate ENIC. Clear as day. That's fine but....

The notion that it is effectively okay to excuse below standard displays because the players in question are our so-called best is just mental.

Romero and Van De Ven are paid very well to play for the club these posters say they support and yet they trot our their nonsense.

What matters more one needs to ask. The club and its survival or supporting players who feel they are playing with lesser quality alongside them? The fcuking cheek.

Did anyone see Bowen acting like a Prima donna or giving interviews? Guehi the same before he left Palace. Semenyo when he was still at Bournemouth? Anderson at Forest?

It is shameful that some posters on here can't see what they are saying and that the players they are making a case for are the very players who should be guiding those around them, and leading from the front, and doing their talking on the pitch.

Romero and Van De Ven should shut up, play their hearts out, lead more effectively, and then in the summer, put in transfer requests, and let the bidders come in.

As for the posters who are essentially excusing or justifying their mediocrity, they really need to consider what matters most - it's shameful.

If we didn’t have VdV, we’d already be relegated. He’s gotten us more points than just about anyone.

Our forward line is anemic, the midfield is bland, and the outside backs are injured. And his CB partner is suspended again while the backup is injured.

Don’t know what you expect? 2nd leading scorer in the PL. 2nd leading scorer in the CL. As a CB.

He’s not unsellable for the right price, but he’s one of the best players we have right now.

Yeah 100% but he’s absolutely checked out now

Yeah when you actually look at the squad, it hardly strikes me as full of lazy players and 'bad eggs' tbh. There are a clearly a few that have priors (Biss, Spence) and seemingly Romero was late and can be difficult, but when I scroll through our squad I largely see pretty nice young lads with a sprinkling of solid older/mid 20s characters. I think we've got a pretty average group of players, attitude-wise. And the majority of them are willing to run very hard for the team when managed right.

There's clearly a lack of leadership in the group and maybe the culture's become a bit rotten, but I think that's more borne of poor squad-building, bad management and a gradual degradation of standards and quality from up above rather than cos we've signed a bunch of lazy arseholes.

People really watched that HOS Dragusin performance on Sunday and really think we are better off with players like him because 'they put in more effort' hilarious

Our clueless fans really take offence to players having some ambition and wanting the club to sort itself out and wonder why they become dissalousioned in the first place. VdV no different.

It's funny people were praising him a few months ago while Romero was the one who was clearly checked out and VdV seemed like the one putting the effort in, now Mickey has caught the disease it seems like he's the scapegoat now.

Neither of these players play and we'd be rock bottom of this league.

He needs to step up right now, big time, and lead this club away from relegation...

Dragusin has been absent for a year through injury so isn’t going to be at it straight away, but yes it doesn’t necessarily mean he is good enough.

If Romero and VDV don’t want to be here then I’d rather they moved on. You say about ambition and mention in an earlier post players like Modric, Bale, etc, yet they got their moves by their actions on the pitch that as a result benefited both us and the individual.

You use our inability to replace them adequately as a reason to retain them. If there’s a problem sourcing replacements of a suitable standard then the recruitment process and personnel behind it needs an overhaul. That isn’t a reason to retain players that stink the joint out attitude wise.

I’m not advocating going forward with Dragusin and Danso as our first choice centre back pairing. I’m saying move on any player that doesn’t give 100% for THFC and recruit replacements of similar or ideally better ability. I don’t know what’s so controversial or difficult to understand about that. 🤷🏻

To build the right culture within the club you need to at least start with players that want to be here, rather than ones that are desperate to leave and as a result influence the culture accordingly.

Edit: a laughing emoji Shadydan Shadydan ? Is that the best you can offer?! 🙄
