Player Micky van de Ven

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He actually assured himself he's going to get 180 CL minutes by getting sent off and banned for Liverpool.
Rightly so. Shouldn't see a second of CL football. He'll fuss and fight, say he's leaving, but we know he's gone on the summer anyway, not a moment too soon.

Never seen a player go from very likeable, humble lad, to (in his head) big time superstar in such a short space of time. Total prick.

Nothing like not being able to play against the team you think covet you.

Micky has been one of our worst players this season (despite the goals, which dried up around the time his effort did)

Fucker needs a continued spell out. Him and Vicario should be the first players dropped. And Muani.

I really dislike Van De Ven Said this for a while. Nowhere near as good as he and some posters think.

Gave an interview, and had zero basis. That's a red flag right there. Distracted and not interested.

He is one of the group of players, given status by some on here who have got us to where we are right now.

No t got the necessary respect for the club, the supporters or their colleagues.

Posters can stand there saying I told you so and ENIC this and that, but when you have players like Romero, Van De Ven, Spence and at times Porro, acting as they do, unless you have a very very strong manager this is potentially what you get. They soil the dressing toom and lead by poor example.

Van De Ven will have 8 PL games in which to help save us from the ignominy of relegation.

Then he just needs to fcuk off.

Really disappointed in him last night ,I could understand maybe if we were behind and does a rash challenge to stop a goal but it was nothing like that ,we just needed to stay solid and let the game settle to give us a better chance to win a real crunch game but of course we couldn't manage that .

Bloke needs to take a hard, long look in the mirror. To be fair, he probably does every day, so arrogant as he is, but he needs to take a harder look and ask if he has done enough this season.

The answer just can't be yes.

I'm not actually disappointed in Van De Ven. I'm just not surprised.

I didn't see the incident in the ground, and I certainly am not going to watch it again. It seems the general consensus is he deserved it, but can I ask if it had been a goon, scouser or manc, would he have been sent off?
Not in a million years would they have sent off a Gooner, Scouser or Manc.

They'd have got a yellow and a penalty but no way would they send the man off.

They certainly wouldnt be smiling like the ref was yesterday.

I knew it from the start when there was a nasty challenge on VDV and the our guy Sarr got a yellow because he waved an imaginary card just once. You see that week in week out and it's never punished. You also see players throwing themselves to the ground week in week out, but we're the only team who gets yellow for 'simulation'.

I know we are rubbish at the moment but we are getting zero help from the officials - in fact quite the opposite.

3 game ban man

What the fuck

We lose a man for the game.

We get a penalty awarded against us.

Lose a goal

Have to llaye the majority of the game with ten men.

And still a three game ban according to the BBC.

Premier League straight red cards result in immediate dismissal and a minimum one-to-three-match suspension covering all domestic competitions

Suspension Duration:
  • 1 Match: Denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity (DOGSO).
  • 3 Matches: Serious foul play, violent conduct, or deliberate punching/kicking.
  • 3+ Matches: Spitting, insulting/abusive language, or extreme misconduct.

Had to sense check it myself. It's one game.

That's what I thought but the BBC says three game ban??

I really hope you're right 👍

I thought so too unless it's deemed serious foul play.

Van De Ven will be disappointed if it's only a one-match suspension..

He's us at the moment in a nutshell. Gormless, shit for brains moron.

How the hell does he go and get a red card when we are down to our bare bones? Concede the goal fine but getting a red is fucking unforgivable.

No other team in the top half of the player has a player daft enough to do that in a crucial game.

I'm so bitterly disappointed with his attitude. He's put half a foot in the Championship for our club and honestly I bet he couldn't give a fuck about it really.

That's been written by an idiot.
Probably one of our squad.
I really hope so

Even TNT reported three games so they're trying to will it to be true.

They said because the ref cited 'Serious foul play" as the sending off offence then it would be a three game ban.

Surely it can't be serious foul play???

Edit : Fantasy Football Scour says he'll be back 22nd March so that's a one game band thank goodness.

This is on the FA's own website. It is 100% not serious foul play, I don't understand why they're reporting it like that. He pulled his arm. But hey, this is Spurs, so nothing surprises me anymore:

DENYING A GOAL OR AN OBVIOUS GOAL-SCORING OPPORTUNITY (DOGSO)

Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offender is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball or a challenge for the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.), the offending player must be sent off.

Where a player denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by committing a deliberate handball offence, the player is sent off wherever the offence occurs (except a goalkeeper within their penalty area).

Where a player denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by committing a non-deliberate handball offence and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offender is cautioned.

A player, sent-off player, substitute or substituted player who enters the field of play without the required referee's permission and interferes with play or an opponent and denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity is guilty of a sending-off offence.

The following must be considered:
  • distance between the offence and the goal
  • general direction of the play
  • likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball
  • location and number of defenders

SERIOUS FOUL PLAY
A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.

Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.
