I didn't see the incident in the ground, and I certainly am not going to watch it again. It seems the general consensus is he deserved it, but can I ask if it had been a goon, scouser or manc, would he have been sent off?
Whatever the case, his sending off was a huge factor in us losing that game. What I see is that he has given up on us, and not just tonight. What a terrible example he is to the younger players. One of several who think they are better than then they are , and who have brought us to this awful situation.
We haven't seen any of those blistering runs in ages, maybe he's scared that he will pull his hamstrings.
Another idol with feet of clay. Just hope that we get a shedful of money for him (not that we would spend it wisely!).

Probably not imo. Tried to defend him a bit but 95% of the fans hate him already.

A lot of the things Romero and VdV get sent off for wouldn't be red cards twenty years ago.

The problem for both of them is that it isn't twenty years ago.

Yes he would have last man clearly pulling him back so was a clear red card. another player who thinks he is better than he is, somehow our players have no actual footballing acumen. Let him go worst case scenario he scores a goal given he is further back than the pen spot he might miss. Instead pull him back give them a pen and we are down to ten men. I was going to say he is not captain material but then again compared to Romero it’s a no brainer. Romero is the worst captain in spurs history.

Thank you Gooner Troll and please f off this forum that should only have proper Spurs fans not YOU! VDV held him then let go and the Palace place stretched his arm out to fake being held and the corrupt biased ref gave it and did double jeopardy red & penalty which is a JOKE!

Glenn Roedar on Radio said the ref got it wrong originally!

Glenn Roedar can sniff my taint.

Defo not a gooner troll sorry you feel that way for me voicing my opinion compared to the mighty knowledge of some ex Newcastle players seems like from 40 years ago? He held him by your own words was last man and made it an easy decision for the ref and var.

I have spent thousands on this club in the last ten years traveling from abroad on wages for players who either are either completely dumb from a footballing acumen, tactically naive or simply just don’t care for someone to just label me lazily as an Woolwich troll.

I want both VDV and Romero gone in the summer whether we stay up or not. I'm never going to forgive them for the way they've bailed on us.

It doesn't even matter if it was deliberate or accidental. We needed them to step up and get the team through this difficult period. We needed a Bilbao performance for every game and they gave us schoolboy errors.

I doubt we will get much for them (especially if we're relegated). They've made it very obvious that they want out and their lack of application will only lower their value. If they had been the players they were supposed to be, we wouldn't be in this situation.

I don't care if they didn't want Ange sacked and they didn't like Frank. It's their job to get behind whichever manager the club decides to appoint and work with him to achieve the best possible results for the club. Bill Nicholson believed that it was an honour and a privilege to play for Tottenham Hotspur and that any player that didn't feel the same way didn't belong at the club. Over the last few weeks, Romero and van der Ven have done nothing but show that they don't belong at the club.

Goodbye and good riddance to them.

Wouldn’t sunrise me if he feigns an injury and is out for the last games untill he leaves in the summer .
Is he banned for the CL match now ?

It was a text book red card. Gets caught out of position so Sarr is 1v1 with no one else near them, then just grabs him with no intention of playing the ball. Starts outside the box, but gets worse inside. It was unforgivable.

Doesn't matter who commits that foul, it's a red all day long.

Well, if Glenn Roeder said it, you must be right!

He barely makes contact.

If Dragusin is the one being pulled back it doesn't get given.

Take no notice of the nitwits, Mrs P - sadly it was clearly a red :(

If there was the slightest of doubts I wouldn't say that. I actually like VdV, but what he did there was pretty stupid. I suppose it was his turn?
