He is genuinely shit.Tbf even with his issues and a shite couple of months he's still currently the highest rated player this season across the match threads. He was really decent in the first few months of the season and I think the backlash has swung a bit too far. People are talking like he's genuinely shit.
Bit "in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king" but he's still a very capable player who would do well for us in the right system. Sadly he's just a horrible fit for our specific situation right now.
Caring too much. Come on, every defender knows the double jeopardy rule. Sarr wasn't even getting the ball and if Micky thought he was, let him get it and let him take his shot. Yes, he probably scores but we keep 11 on the pitch and we don't capitulate. Sorry, this was far from caring too much. It was actually not caring.Yeah his attitude hasn't been great but that's a different thing. I think ignoring Frank was really poor but I think a lot of the other stuff is just him feeling the pressure and being really frustrated by the whole situation and then that bleeding into his performances.
The Palace mistake was more down to him caring too much rather than not enough, I think. He was the captain and felt he had to do something but went too far due to the extreme pressure of the situation. If you listen to his interview with the Dutch journo it seems like he's just being crushed under the weight of our collective failure.
In fairness, you did put Sonny and BJ together......

This is a bad take. A very bad take. VDV will force a move in the Summer. Caring too much is defo not the problem here. He beleives everything he reads about himself and thinks he's far too good to be playing for us in these current circumstances.Yeah his attitude hasn't been great but that's a different thing. I think he just made a stupid decision in the moment. It happens.

He cared under Ange. He risked his hamstrings every game for us and we'd see how fast he was. How many sprints has he done this season? Fair enough if he's minding himself more to avoid injury, but when you start minding yourself every game then you quickly become a player who's not giving 100%. And VDV is a player who has not given us 100% this season.
I hope he proves me wrong. But watch the Liverpool game where we drew without him. Watch the recovery run Dragusin makes in the final minute and watch how he throws his body at the Ekitike shot to stop them scoring a last minute goal. Does VDV do that? Dragusin isn't on the same planet as VDV in terms of ability but one player is giving 100% while the other is minding himself. Since his goal line clearance in the Europa Leaguefinal (which I'll be forever greatful for), I don't think his heart has been in it. He's been playing in second gear all season. Caring too much is definitely not the case anyway lol
I agree with many that Mickey has been vastly overrated as a defender but he hasn't been "stupid" - until this year. Clearly feeling the pressure and not great at dealing with it. Not on his own there sadly.
In the early minutes he played like he was in the zone, so I don't think he just didn't care.
The ignoring of Frank and his Overlap interview were huge red flags. This is a bad take. A very bad take. VDV will force a move in the Summer. Caring too much is defo not the problem here. Yup. Actions speak louder than words and Micky needs to give us 100% on the pitch for the remaining 7 games ( and yes risk getting injured before the world cup) to prove that he's committed. If he does that then I've no problem with him leaving in the Summer if a bigger club comes sniffing and is willing to pay 60m+. I'd thank him for everything and wish him all the best. The ignoring of Frank and his Overlap interview were huge red flags.
He got rinsed at left back last game and was clearly not giving his all.
He definitely feels he’s above us and has checked out.
I don’t want any player here that doesn’t give their all for this historic club.
Well said. Not even a 6-4 pussy who can run but never win a ball in the air!The ignoring of Frank and his Overlap interview were huge red flags.

We've sold him??.?...when?....
someone so big, to be so bad in the air is so strange. I thought he was largely okay today. But he's not half the player he's made to be. Gladly see the back of him in the summer, with the rest of them. Don't think we'll get much more than we paid for him at this stage as actual football people can see his limitations. He was poor defensively today I thought, got beaten on a few crosses, didn’t even get off the ground for a few of them. Got done with a ball over the top that Kinsky came out for. I think I got suckered in by the pace but I’m questioning if he’s actually just a bit of a poor defender. Think he might be playing himself out of a move to a top club. I’m completely fine with selling him in the summer for a reasonable fee.
Yeah, he's a big fanny, let's be honest.Mentally he seems pretty weak and immature, especially for a professional athlete who's earning millions. I can only hope for him that it will improve in the next years, but I'm very skeptical after what I've seen in the last couple of months when it really mattered.
Now compare that to Archie Gray who is 4 years younger.
