But how do you know we haven’t done this or worked with similarly qualified individuals? Are you a club employee or speaking with any inside knowledge?90days is a standard for some notice periods, though I would have thought several elite medics are on 1-2year contracts, so must run summer to summer.
It does make me wonder why we haven’t employed any sprint based coaches (athletic/sports/recovery/physio/medical) of the highest renown, like this guy as a consultant (to help players formulate their gym routines, coaches their scheduling methodology etc) :
Hamstring Injury Prevention: Elite Coach Cast Part II; Henk Kraaijenhof
We’ll finish out this series on hamstring injury prevention with Henk’s take on hamstring injury prevention. A must read for all strength and speed professionals.www.just-fly-sports.com
Henk Kraaijenhof coaching credentials include Nelli Cooman, Merlene Ottey, Troy Douglas and Tennis star Mary Pierce. His specialties are the physical and mental coaching, in particular stress and stress management and the methodology or training. Given 1 injury to VanDerVen (or Odobert) probably costs several league places, that’s £10m so you can get elite staff a plenty for that money (and protect outrageously valuable assets better across the board).
Most top clubs cover off these bases I’d be surprised if we’re an outlier. Certainly sprint coaches etc have been used in football for donkeys years.
