I thought we had the next best thing in world football, but he’s shit at defending, clearly had a chip on his shoulder and has already mentally checked out of the club.
Really disappointing.
VDV’s eye catching moments are typically when he’s making last ditch tackles and using his pace to get us out of trouble. Which always reminds me of this Maldini quote.

If you don't stop these things or kick the perpetrators out, they damage the rest.
We are seeing the consequences, as much as some of the wider issues of poor managerial appointments and some questionable transfers.

I don't particularly blame him for wanting more than being at a 16th/17th placed club, but he's also responsible for that as they all are
Darren Bent usually talks a lot of shite on TalkSport, but he had VDV sussed perfectly when he said he’s very overrated and relies on his pace to get himself out of trouble because he’s often out of position.
