It did kind of get evened out I guess, Palace had a player sent off and a pen awarded for a very soft red against United........... :richclosed:

Funny how that hasn’t evened out with the push in the back fouls or the times we get booked for simulation or asking for a card …

Things do even out for some clubs but they aren’t going to for us. The sooner these softies realize that, the sooner they dig themselves out of this

Does he do the foul if Vicario is proactive and comes off his line?
Not sure Sarr was ever getting the ball anyway... even if Vic was routed to the line... you look at the defending. Danso was bullied by Strand Larsen. VDV is thinking Danso is going to win that tussle but he should still be preparing for Danso not to win it. He's caught out. He doesn't know where Vic is. He doesn't know if the ball is checking up. So he does the one thing he shouldn't do. Give away a pen and deny a goalscoring opportunity. Straight red all day but if I was him I'd be giving daggers to Danso. The man is supposed to be strong. He had his belly tickled.

No he doesn’t. Vicario is a shambles. It’s hard to do nothing and let Sarr go through and score.

I’m 100% not in the VDV witch hunt today. Some don’t like his so called arrogance but he is our best player. You take him out of our team and it will be considerably worse.

I don’t think he will be here next season but we need another big 8 league games out of him.

Danso never won a header all night. I do agree Micky should always expect his partner to lose the header but Danso can’t get off the fucking ground and got bullied by Strand Larsson all night.

Hey Micky you're so shite, you blow my mind, Hey MIcky!
Hey Micky you're so shite, you blow my mind, Hey Micky!
Hey Micky what a pity you don't understand
You tug them by shirt, and you really are a gland

Hey Micky ...

Anyone else fancy drafting some more verses?

Oh, Micky, off to City
You're really underhand
It's guys like you, Micky
Oh, what you do Micky, do Micky
Don't pull a hammy, Micky

There was a time not too long ago I thought this could be the second coming of Vertonghen.

Not fit to clean Jan's boots.
If it were a game of Top Trumps then VDV wins the pace category, everything else would be a landslide victory for Jan.

That said, we shouldn't forget that Vertonghen pre-Poch was also in a similar situation to what Romero/VDV are now, looking uninterested and uncommitted, fans on his back, etc.

VDV's pace has made him seem far better than he actually is to some fans, if a defence is well organised and the defenders are skilled in their position, lightening pace is not a necessity for keeping clean sheets. That pace should be a bonus, not the gameplan, and this is something I've been saying all the way back to Ange when people were bemoaning how he was supposed to get the team to keep cleansheets without VDV available.

I actually like VdV, but obviously he has to go if we are relegated. While he's an ok, but no more defender, the guy can be an absolute weapon going forward. Imagine him playing in a really good team? FWIW, he also has star quality.

I'm a little tired of hearing what great stars he and Romero are, and yet, even when both playing we are unable to look remotely solid.

That's with a dour midfield composed of the likes of Pal, Gray, Bentancur, Sarr etc, ahead of them, so lack of graft ahead of them shouldn't be much of an excuse either.

Having star quality is wonderful, but doesn't count for much if you can't also bring the basics to the table.

Set an example and do it this morning, player power is to much at clubs these days, the cunts know they have the power to get any manager sacked, the club needs to show strength here and VDV is a perfect example as he is on (for a PL footballer) very low wages
And that is one of the main reasons modern football is so skewered. £75k A WEEK is considered a very low wage. And they get it, regardless of how they perform. The sooner they bring in Performance Related Pay, the better.

The more I see the red card incident the more absolutely idiotic beyond belief it looks, completely brainless and unnecessary at that stage of the game, that could be the key moment in this relegation fight.
