Some sloppy play, some bad bounces, some wrong decision at key moments. That shit can happen, and tonight it did. But some of our play was excellent.
Likes: Winks. Deep passes into the channels/halfspaces. Janssen's instincts. Georgiou. GKN putting some stuff together. Ben Davies running his flank.
Dislikes: Sloppy passing. Kane/Dele choosing hard shots over easier passes. Guys deciding to go outside to the byeline for a cross instead of a cutback to a guy in space.

I want to love Onomah, but I feel he gets too easily bullied once he gets into dangrous areas of the pitch. I think Wimmer isn't hitting the level required, though the second goal was Toby's fault, I felt. CCV needs minutes, but I like the way he fights, and I feel better seeing him on the pitch than Wimmer right now.

if Onomah is playing centrally where's Dier or Dembele playing.
Onomah is still not playing where he usually plays, in a 2 in central midfield.
He's either playing right or No10 role isn't he?
Unless we play
3 at back
-------------dier--------_
Trippier, Dembele Onomah peters
--------------Dele Kane----------

He's playing in the same position Eriksen does whenever we play 3 at the back. Centrally.

It'll clearly be:

Vorm
Carter-Vickers - Alderweireld - Vertonghen
Trippier.......,,,,,,,,,,....Dier........Dembele...............Walker-Peters
Onomah...........Alli
Kane
As that mimics how we played last season but with Onomah being used as the creativity in the attacking role instead of Eriksen.

Maybe Pochettino realises Onomah is no where near Dier, Dembele, Wanyama or Winks and simply wants him to strengthen himself in other positions (wide or further forward) because he feels he probably has more chance there? What's the point playing him centrally when he's our fifth choice central midfielder?

And a word on Eriksen - he's never more than 15 yards from the ball, providing an outlet. We have no one even close to what he gives us. Even Deli isn't in the game. We need Chris to make us tick.

First half thoughts

- Awful decision for the penalty.
- Kyle Walker-Peters is not a left back at all, but he's been our most active player.
- Dier and Alli have been absolutely horrible.
- Onomah needs to demand the ball more and then do more when he gets it.
- We are really lacking pace.

I'd go back to 4-2-3-1 for the second half. Get Carter-Vickers off, put KWP at right back, get Davies on and put him left back, get Winks on as soon as possible and N'Koudou to show off his pace
