This site giving Rangers a 2% chance of progressing in CL after that bad 1st leg result

But as you say, the positive is that Rangers drop into EL League phase with 8 matches guaranteed, with more chance of some decent results in EL than CL, although still tough for Rangers.

Of course we would struggle - in our current state!

But then if there was a British league made tomorrow we would get access to the T.V. rights and we could get far greater commercial deals.

I'm not a fucking idiot who thinks if you shoe horned any Scottish club into English football as things stand they'd compete but give it a few years and for the money to deliver a bit of equilibrium they absolutely would compete.

The question is, if he can't get in the team, is he actually that good?

We see it time and time again with our young players, hyped up to the heavens.

If he can't get into that Rangers side, it's a concern.

He has plenty of time, Kane was a relatively late bloomer. There's always that issue as well where the manager needs to balance playing kids with getting results.

This is a Spurs-centric outlook.

He'll be drip-fed minutes until he has a few break out moments......

It's misguided to expect any different..... Managers have games to win first and foremost.

You forgot to consider competency.......

Plenty of clubs score a ticket to the 'promise land' and squander it......

If they didn't hit the ground running they could easily find themselves relegated to the champo; then it's a long hard way back.

I mean yeah, that's obviously a possibility, then so be it.

Right now tho the EPL gets billions from Sky when 10% of its customers get like 2% of the outflow.

Either amalgamate the leagues or distribute the money accordingly.

If what that means is apportioning an equal part of the pie to the SPL; one will naturally ask why?

........I don't know the longer term history; but why did Scotland want to stay separate for so long to begin with?

.....What's changed? .......Anything other than a case akin to buyers regret?

The whole point of learning your trade as young player is to play in different environments, clubs, systems, positions.

Mikey is fully capable of playing multiple positions. He needs to learn how to play RW, AM maybe even second striker.

Problem with making him play LW only is that he learns to be a one trick pony and then it becomes easy for teams to mark him out of games.
You look at some of the best dribblers, part of what makes Messi so good is that he picks the ball up in all areas of the pitch. A defender can't just hold his position and mark him out the game. The fluidity to move across the pitch is something Mikey has to learn.

One of Mike's advantages is that he's a pretty balanced player and can use both feet and take the defender on down the line and also cut inside. He has to develop that across the pitch, that level of unpredictability will turn him into a demon.

It's a nonsense idea to make him into a LW and only a LW.

Good point. I can remember when Jol had a young Lennon playing out on the left wing rather than the right, and he was really ineffective at first, but Jol was doing it for his education and, I believe, it made Lennon a better player.

Moore, for me, will end up as a 10. I think that's his most natural position when his skillset is taken into account. For now, he needs to be learning about how he can contribute from different positions, as playing him at 10 should give him license to roam across our frontline eventually, so he has to overcome the difficulties he has in positions unfamiliar to him.

His talent is obvious, it's his head that needs this education.

If Sky stopped showing Scottish football then how much of that 10% would cancel their subscription - not many. Celtic vs Rangers aside, 90% of their viewership aren’t watching Scottish football and the 10% that are our also watching the Premier league.

It’s a poor league with 1 decent side and 1 average side hoovering up any half decent player the other clubs might produce or procure.
