Had to have been 40 yards to hit him in stride, and Ronaldo's (left footed) finish was just insane.Did anyone see his pass to set up one of Ronaldo's hat-trick goals the other day?
Sublime

My point was, before the Galaticos era they were still the most successful club in Spain. Let's not forget that they won two Champions Leagues immediately before that spending spree. They have always been huge, and above Barca ever since Rijkaard turned up at the Camp Nou.A fucking billion years ago!
Not saying that history counts for nothing but stability has to mean something too! With recent upheavals and the knowledge that the coaching staff is always changing, what makes anyone think that they are this manager's & the next manager's cup of tea?

Article from Bleacher Report arguing that Modrić's transfer helped Levy and Levy only. Makes some comparisons with Şahin.
Personally what's most interesting to me is the bold prediction that Modrić won't be playing for Real Madrid next year. Where might he go on loan, then?
2015/2016 he was the best midfielder in world football. Easily.
I think Thiago overtook him last year but the guy is just an absolute joy to watch, It's amazing looking back and realise we had this guy in our team and he still never got the praise he deserved until his last two seasons. We always had a Bale, van der Vaart etc. who everyone praised but Modric was the one who took us to that next level. One of our greatest ever footballers in my honest opinion.
Just watch him and look how good his first touch is EVERY single time. Both feet. He always takes the ball into space perfectly and away from the opposing footballer. You can't get anywhere near him.
I think that's the down side to having a CEO like Levy any player who is good and wants to leave will have to rock the boat to get the move, even if the buying club is offering decent wedge.
Yeah, well the little rat crying to the press about "dream moves" to Chelsea was uncalled for however you look at it (and failed I might add). As was Bale (and Berbatov) refusing to train/play. I just think it is unprofessional and I don't like this idea that forcing a move by acting like an arsehole is acceptable behaviour. It's why I was hesitant for us to sign players like Berahino. Mega wages or not, a contract is a contract and until you leave a club you should be professional IMO. I accept that this is a consequence of the modern game, but I still don't care for it.I think that's the down side to having a CEO like Levy any player who is good and wants to leave will have to rock the boat to get the move, even if the buying club is offering decent wedge.
Levy has them all on long term contracts and (relatively) low wages so the option is to sit the contract out or kick up a fuss.
I am not questioning Levy's part in this as I think this is one reason why we don't have clubs coming in for our players as they do not want the hassle with dealing with us. I am just understanding why players (who behave professionally before and after) may behave this way.
