Can you ever build attacking chemistry with him playing in the front three. I don’t think you can. He holds onto the ball when there’s a pass or good movement. Then players stop making the runs. There’s no cohesion in attacking patterns and he’s a big part of that. People get excited because he can dribble but it very rarely goes anywhere. He has one main attribute which is making the ball stick back to goal, which can be useful away from home at times.

I want another good RW option because he’s never going to be a mainstay of a top team. None of the other big teams were in for him for a reason.

I’d like to put some actually useful attackers around him. What exactly do the other attackers create?

That’ll make his limitations more noticeable and frustrating. He makes the wrong decisions. Good players do the right things and make the right decisions whoever they’re playing with. I’d be surprised if good attacking players would enjoy playing with him

He needs some discipline, and to stop playing like he thinks hes an automatic pick. he's selfish and holds onto the ball too much. he slows the game down and wastes the motion and runs that his teammates try constantly. fantastic player with fantastic skills but needs to show tactical discipline or he risk becoming an ineffective show-pony. Kulu coming back will at least give him a real competitor to battle whereas Johnson seems not to be up for the challnge.

I totally agree.

But the other attackers have to show a semblance of effectiveness too.

the amount of good, simple passes he misses, to hang onto the ball and just kill the opportunity of getting a move going, is wearing thin. thats got to come down to the manager allowing him to ignore good passes to hang onto it and get into pointless duals.
