Sky News headline….Brentford interested in signing Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich, Hutchinson having a £35million release clause.. How does Sky know that? Perhaps the same way that Spurs knows MGWs release clause. Doesn’t that idiot at Forest realise that release clauses are not huge secrets?
Well maybe Hutchinson doesn't have a hidden release clause in his contract, like most players??

When you have an hidden release clause like Gibbs-White apparently do, you have to contact said players clubs to find out. Wich we apparently haven't done.

Feels very odd that we haven't contacted Forest beforehand.

Well no this ain’t the case. In any used marketplace goods are worth what the buyer is willing to pay. If someone else really wants him they will pay more because the release clause is considered below his actual value.

But someone needs to actually want him and there doesn’t appear to be any noise around anyone else. Unless he’s on teams lists as second choice and a deal becomes possible because something else falls through.

So for now, Forest delay. Make a lot of noise and hope a buyer comes knocking.
Understood. But... if we triggered the release clause lawfully (i.e. it cannot be proven that we broke any rules) then aren't Forest compelled to transact with us, whether they like it or not? Doesn't it become exclusively the player's decision at that point and not the club's?

And, if it can be shown that we acted lawfully, but Forest went ahead and sold MGW to another club anyway, would we have grounds to sue them for refusing to release the player?

lol , the chances of Levy intimidating Marinakis is about the same as me dating a super model .

Omg boo-hoo with this big fat baby.

You can be "convinced" of what you want; you can't prove shit so stfu and send him over like a good boy.

Sooo another set of fans that will hate us, if they didn't already!

Ladies and Gents, i give you our NEW biggest rivals: Nottingham Forest

Nobody is going to offer more than the release clause because the clause releases the player

Forest can value the player as high as they like, it’s over.

If they want to breach the contract by denying the release clause that’s up to them but they aren’t getting anything above that clause from now on unless MGW signs a new contract.

If he does then he’s a Forest player for life.

Every time I see a journalist or 'ITK' say Forest will sell for the right place I just end up laughing.

How can a club think they have right to barter a 'right price' when you literally added a release clause into the contract. It just goes to prove no one really knows what is going in, and the reason why Ornstein and Percy have stayed quiet.

Forest are making a lot of noise to try and scare Spurs away. The PL would laugh it away as there is no definitive way of proving Spurs sort out the release clause info unless they're stupid enough to have sent emails or texts, which let's be honest, they wouldn't have. It's just Marinakis being annoyed he can't control the price and throwing his toys out the pram. The guy is a cunt really, throws legal threats around like they're nothing and cries when things go against him (Neville calling him out, hiring Clattenberg due to some decisions going against him, writing to UEFA because Forest bottled top 4 and top 6)

Just thinking logically here. For the move to go ahead does marinakis have to back down and does that seem likely? Is there a world where he’s sold to us and marinakis can’t do anything about it?!

Hopefully there's no noise from any other club because they are in solidarity with spurs, no club wants there to be issues and legal problems around approaching clubs for players with release clauses, just causes headaches for all concerned. It's just the big spoilt baby isn't getting what he wants and is having a wee tantrum, someone needs to give him a bowl of ice cream or something to calm him down.
