Cannot blame Levy for this one, can’t see anyway Spurs would get involved in anything iffy, it’s just not how they roll (albeit they are all a little suspect at times)

I think the fact there has been no comments from our club after being accused of tapping up a player illegally , tells you everything you need to know . They’re digging their heels in which is expected. You just have to decide whether it’s worth the wait. The player is clearly keen to move but Maranakis is stubborn.

Only quicker way to make it move is MGW hands in a transfer request.

why would Spurs comment? We’ve done nothing wrong in our eyes, and we’ve clearly just allowed Forest to throw their toys out the pram.

As much as we slate him, Levy is no legal newbie. He’d have only signed off on a deal being made if he knew it was legit, same as the new CEO.

If I were to guess it’s a case of the agent letting it slip, offering it up discreetly… there’s nothing stopping Spurs approaching the agent of MGW.

“How much do you reckon we could get MGW for?”
“Oh I reckon £60m would give you a chance”

Something as simple as that.
 
Assuming that report is accurate about Forest refusing to sell, it seems like we need him to hand in a transfer request or refuse to train (unlikely) or his lawyers need to be able to prove that Forest are breaking the terms of the contract. Because, like Simon Jordan said, his contract is between Forest and MGW, not with us.

Another possibility is another club also triggering the release clause, so we've got to hope that MGW is determined to join us and is willing to fight for a move. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he stays at Forest against his will.

It's crazy how nobody seems to know what is going on here.

Why would the club comment when Forest haven't even commented themselves?

They hold his registration, they need to sign it off

You can't just take a player just because you've hit a release clause, it still needs to be paid lol
