Feels like a few months!!!Funny how people are complaining about this rumbling on.
It's only been going a few days ffs.

I don't understand how you can not understand his contractual obligation if all of the requirements have been met. He's legally bound.
The fact that the terms were agreed with the Forest board, to the point where they initially allowed him to have a medical undertaken, is pretty strong evidence that the terms were met.
Their owner is not above that, no matter what posturing he comes out with.
He'll leave this window. He's agreed terms with us and rejected every contract Forest have offered. Forest can't afford for him to see his contract out. Next summer they'll be lucky to get £30m for him, and Marinakis looks an even bigger twat than he already does. This is the key part that everyone is missing or forgetting, terms were initially agreed hence why we were allowed to book a medical for Gibbs-White and then Marinakis stepped in and put a stop to it.
Not to be confused with the Spanish version which lots of posters have been quoting and completely muddied the waters these release clauses are inserted by one or both parties for a plethora of reasons including the one you've mentioned i.e. to protect the club. That could just as well apply to the player, the fact is none of us really know.Surely the point of release clauses is to protect a club unless another club bids the figure agreed. In this case surely ALL release clauses should be public if the intent is to scare other teams off your player.
What has happened here is that Forest should have updated his contract and upped the amount. NEWS - MGW wants to leave because he refused all new offers.
You're right, but I think we're seeing a similar outcome. Aggressive denial of the clause plus a player who won't force the issue means NF will keep the player. There wasn’t a formal release clause. Woolwich thought there was one but there wasn’t. The clause only required Liverpool to tell Suarez a bid had been put in if the bid was £40m or over. So Liverpool told Suarez a bid had been put in for him.
You realise that's all in your head?I wouldn't be at all surprised if MGW was a target last season and Ange told his fat Greek mate when they met weeks back that Levy was aware of his release clause.
Fucking hell some of you are wet.
Beat your chest.
We are Spurs.
We are in the CL
We ARE taking MGW.

I logged out for like 6 hours and it felt like 6 weeks!
I get what your saying, but he is also refusing to sign a new contract , if he plays ball but lets the owners know he only wants to come to Spurs however he is professional and he will carry on training and do what is required all the while refusing to sign a new contract - what do Forest do then? The legal stuff is a smokescreen and they know it. What is happening is their owner, who is a childish megalomaniac, is refusing to sell him despite the clause. It is up to Gibbs-White to initiate a legal process for breach of contract. That process will not complete in this window. Their owner is banking on Gibbs-White folding, or us moving on to another target. We can do nothing, it has to be Gibbs-White. He needs to refuse to train and start legal proceedings and stay away from Forest. Every day he turns up and trains or pulls on their shirt, the Forest owner's position strengthens.
