I don’t know where this goes.

Forest still haven’t taken legal action. Whether that’s because it’s just a lot of noise to try and put us off, or they don’t actually believe they have a case I’m not sure.

MGW is being a professional which is good, but I think the only way it speeds up as if he kicks up a fuss. If he signs a new deal with no clause then he’s a fool.
Isn’t it like Simon Jordan said? Sue who for what?

You really don’t understand the process at all do you.
Let me enlighten you a little.

Firstly, we have NOT paid the release clause.
We have reportedly offered to pay the release clause. Whether we breached the confidentiality to learn that figure is under dispute. But you don’t PAY for something until all paperwork is done.

Secondly, Spurs CANNOT take Forest to court.
The only contract out there is between Forest and MGW, Spurs are not a party to it, so have incurred no losses. The only party that could take Forest to court is MGW for breach of contract.
He won't so the deal is dead, He will be on the plane to portugal with Nottingham Forest on Monday and we will have Forest fans inging to us about it next season.

Well, technically we could take Forest to court if we did everything that the contract stipulates, but they are refusing to honor it. Although I could see this being strictly between MGW and Forest.

I see the thread had pivoted back to wet bandits melting.

Man up.

Some of you really don't have the stomach for this do you lol

Some proper Spurs PTSD going on, playing out doomsday scenarios due to cope.

Ahh this fanbase man, it seems like it's gonna take more than finally winning a trophy to erase the trauma of the past :frankstare:

Not sure how you sign another contract with a man that you know will choose not to honour that contract when it suits him.

Marinakis burned that bridge when he started this shit. They are offering him one now so they look better when he rejects it and they have to sell him
It's all about optics with PL clubs. Trying to convince the fans they would rather have the player than 60m... "hey, I had no choice... you need to project your anger towards the player not me... he refused to sign a new deal... I couldn't let him run down his contract"... every club does it as far back as I care to remember... it makes no sense to keep an unhappy player although you could argue we did it with Modric and Kane to an extent. It's been pointed out but only the player can break this deadlock.
