Most depressing Spurs moment

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I only barely remember our team from the 90s (pretty young), but I think the most depressed I had been was that lasagne game. IT was a combination of that huge high, then the real depression after. The two games swung about so much that I never really knew how to feel other than really really hurt.

Unfortunatley it could arrive last day of the season.

Imagine it, we need a win against Fulham to get CL, are 2-1 up in the final 10mins and Senderos scores with his face.

The most depressing moment for me was when they went on that amazing run at the start of the season, played 'the best football in the League' and teased us with aspirations for the title. Let's be honest...we all knew how it was gonna end.

Lasagna-gate. Having david dein and company at the library telling Spurs that the game had to go on before the players were even inspected was a criminal decision(anyone see a trend here).
I filled up my backpack with beer and watched the game in a friends apartment in NYC (they used to have an alcohol ban in the morning)- then after the final whistle went to a bar and drank whiskey shots for about an hour. I remember very little about anything after that except I fell down the subway stairs, every remaining bottle in my back pack broke, and I stood up to be greated by a little old lady just getting out of church. Made it home- my wife pulled me in the house where I proceeded to sexually harass her best friend. God I'm a dickhead.- Anyways- that was the worst day ever- we were cheated- and I started to realize that theres too much money on the line for clubs not to cheat. Very sad.

Equally sad news is that NYSpurs may have to move away from their spiritual home Floyds due to a banning order the pub has put on one of it's members. If that happens- that will be my saddest day.

its a very interesting topic of conversation. Although I agree with everyone's sentiments, I must say that i can't remember a feeling in the pit of my stomach like the one i felt after the Norwich game. Bizarrely I wasn't as affected by the Chelsea game, and for some reason it was the Canaries that still haunt me. Perhaps it was due to the slow realisation that 8 months of hard work had been shat up the wall by 4 weeks of mediocrity. I was talking to a liverpool fan last night and it was interesting how he had been resigned to shite for such a prolonged period and from such an early part of the season that his agony was not as palpable as the frustration and fury that any spurs fan is currently enduring. I would have rather been told in August that we were going to implode before so carelessly goading all the gooners and Chelk$ki scum that i unfortunately have to encounter...

I was in Portugal on tour (yeah yeah, all rock'n'roll in my world) the day Lasagne-gate happened... my mate text me at lunchtime on the day of the game saying all the Spurs players were on death's door and the game was going ahead... all I felt was inevitability, helplessness, and a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach that all was not right (on a par with the same sickening feeling that must've been going around the Spurs dressing room)

It actually didn't register until I got back into the country what a despicable, shocking, bent, corrupt - call it what you will - outcome to the season this was... I'm still surprised no one has done a documentary about it... and that Levy let it pass so easily... I know I get a bad rap for constantly banging on about conspiracy and corruption in football... but really, when you add it all up, WHO had most to lose by US getting into the Champions League at their expense...?
...and WHEN has mass food poisoning EVER affected the ONE club who could damage your 'PROJECT' on the final game of the season...?

Doesn't take a Scientist to work it out... and no wonder Deviled Dein stepped down not long after the disgusting events of that day...

I just hope that one day, the truth will out, and that cheating c u n t of a club gets relegated 3 divisions for their part in it...

*DO YOU KNOW WHAT THEY DID... THAT C U N T I N G CLUB?

*to mis-quote The Devil himself in The Exorcist!

14th October 2001.

Raincoat was incharge. We played Sherwood and Freud (pre cult favourite) in the middle. Gardener at left back. We lost 1-2 at Coventry. John Alousi scored the goal of his life. We chanted 'Raincoat for England for most of game. Redrov scored and looked hollow when he celebrated. Coventry fans pelted us with coins and stones for the whole games. Domiquez was our only fair player on the bench. We played long ball all game. Got attacked on the way back to the train station. Took 7 hours to get home. It rained a bit.

Poor day.

Re Lasagne-gate,

I was living with 2 gooners at the time in Uni, They went out to watch Woolwich at the pub and I had to listen to Spurs ont he radio - I HATE listening on the radio - we always seem to do shit.

When the news filtered through I just thought 'thats it, were clearly never meant to get CL, no matter how hard we try, something will always get in our way'

I was abso devo.

and of course, then the gooner cunts found out the texts started flying through, and then they came home.....drunk....

What a lovely day.

another one is after we won the CC v Leicester (another game I had to listen on the radio as we didnt have sky) Spurs got back into Europe - which of course I was over the moon about, I started suporting Spurs about '91 after Italia 90 and the thought of playing against European teams was the pinnacle, I was so excited about it, we would be able to kick on from here - first time in my suporting life that I was actively following my team into European competition.

So we played Kaiserslautern - I think it was 1-0 to us from the 1st leg and the 2nd leg was away...

Again, I had to listen on the radio.

I remember laying on my bed trying to channel positive thoughts to the players on the pitch (its weird what you think will work when you were young)

Got to the end of the game and it looked like we were going through, then BANG, Kaiserslautern score on the 89th or 90th minute. Fucking gutted but in extra time I had hope that we woul...BANG Stepen Carr scores an own goal in the 93rd min or something crazy and we were out.

All the excitement and looking forward to seeing Spurs in Europe and maybe on TV had just been ripped away.

I cried my eyes out.

Having just found the match report Ginola didnt start but came on 10mins from the end.

In those 10 mins we conceeded twice so maybe he was right lolz

The only thing I remember about that game was lying on my bed listening to the radio and the horrible feeling when they scored

Actually, I take it all back THE most depressing moment of (this) season, was the sight of Chelsea fans booing the memory of 96 DEAD HUMAN BEINGS... forget that they were Scousers... forget your own personal opinions of Liverpool Football club, these were 96 PEOPLE with family, kids, Parents... who DIED... at a FOOTBALL MATCH... whose family had to bury their loved ones... but that's fine, 'cos when you boo and jeer at their memory, in ONE MINUTE'S SILENCE (that's ONE minute, a mere 60 seconds you have to shut the fuck up for) you are rewarded with a thumping 5-1 victory, and a shocking refereeing decision to persuade you that the Gods are on your side, then I know all hope is lost.
There IS no God... no justice... no Karma... boo to your hearts content... you'll win either way... and while you're at it, why not Gas Chamber Hiss your way over the memory of 6 MILLION human beings... you don;t give a fuck, why should justice?

The gods who rule football, are money motivated mercenary c u n t s who don't give a shit about dead people... as long as you shit all over their memory, you'll get your rewards...

I hope Chelsea win the fucking Champions League now... and every single one of their odious, scum c u n t fans who decided to boo the minute's silence lose someone close to them, to a slow and painful death... then maybe they'll think about their disgusting behaviour, and sickening contribution to humanity!

Fuck justice and karma... God is clearly a Gooner or a Neo-Nazi Chelsea fan... either way, I want nothing to do with him... or her!

Besides, we're doomed anyway... see you all at the End of the World Party on December 21st!

You SEEM to BE in a STATE of DEITY confusion.

totally... THERE IS NO GOD... but if there IS... he's a Gooner/Chelsea fan...

I figure I'm just fitting in with the constant contradiction that IS religion!
