I would love to know what the story with us never wearing our away shirt is. It's probably something stupid like the CEO of AIA having a phobia of gold or similar.
If that was the case we surely wouldn't have worn the 3rd kit half a dozen times.
I have a conspiracy theory that it's because the away shirt sold like hot cakes and they want to help flog the third shirt more quickly.
Been to the Spurs store lately? Couldn't see any adult away kits last time I was there.
Am I misremembering or could you only get the Champions League badge on the home shirt? If so that was probably a way of trying to sell more of those. Obviously very pleased I didn't get it on mine in the end as that campaign is one of the many periods in my life I am trying to forget now.
All three of our kits this season are quite pleasant and easy on the eye, with the home probably being the least good. Obviously shirts being worn in the real world by non-athletes has been a factor in their design for a long time now as of course selling shirts is an absolutely fucking massive money-spinner and so when teams end up with away or 3rd kits in bright neon or something daft (like Liverpool this year) I don't understand why they choose those designs or how they actually manage to sell any. I guess some fans will just buy anything the club puts out but a shirt not making you look like a total bellend (I know some people would argue any non-footballer in a football shirt looks like a bellend, but fuck 'em) is surely going to bring in more £££.

I still have my original one of those (& a repro). Love it. The cockerel is still there despite it being an 'iron on' & not embroidered!

Was tempted to buy the 86 hummel kit with the diagonal pin stripes (my first as a kid) from the Spurs Shop, but just didnt add up without the hummel logo.

Some great stuff on that site - and I didn't realise the sell for so much. All my shirts are in great condition. If it wasn't for the nostalgia value I'd flog them. I mean, £45 for the crappy Pony kit from 97-98? That's good money.
