The Fighting Cock
Omnipotent
I've added a new [lineup] code in my last ditch attempt at getting people to use this in their posts. It should be a little easier to use than the current 'formation' one. There's a new lineup (pitch) icon in the post editor.

You can layout your formation as you would normally. eg

Goalkeeper
Defender Defender Defender Defender
Midfielder Midfielder Midfielder
Forward Forward
Forward
If you simply wrap that in the new [lineup] Players here [/lineup] tag then it should appear like this:

1
Goalkeeper
2
Defender
3
Defender
4
Defender
5
Defender
6
Midfielder
7
Midfielder
8
Midfielder
9
Forward
10
Forward
11
Forward
lineup code
[lineup]
Goalkeeper
Defender Defender Defender Defender
Midfielder Midfielder Midfielder
Forward Forward
Forward
[/lineup]

For the nerds, there are a few additional options. You can use [lineup=away] to use the away kit:

1
Goalkeeper
2
Defender
3
Defender
4
Defender
5
Defender
6
Midfielder
7
Midfielder
8
Midfielder
9
Forward
10
Forward
11
Forward
lineup code
[lineup="away"]
Goalkeeper
Defender Defender Defender Defender
Midfielder Midfielder Midfielder
Forward Forward
Forward
[/lineup]

If you use [lineup=numbers] then the shirts will show the back with a number from 1 to 11.

1
Goalkeeper
2
Defender
3
Defender
4
Defender
5
Defender
6
Midfielder
7
Midfielder
8
Midfielder
9
Forward
10
Forward
11
Forward
lineup code
[lineup="numbers"]
Goalkeeper
Defender Defender Defender Defender
Midfielder Midfielder Midfielder
Forward Forward
Forward
[/lineup]

If you want to get extra geeky then you can add the actual squad number to the shirt by adding it directly before the player name. eg. 10Kane

1
Goalkeeper
23
Defender
34
Defender
6
Defender
33
Defender
5
Midfielder
30
Midfielder
14
Midfielder
7
Forward
10
Forward
9
Forward
lineup code
[lineup="numbers"]
Goalkeeper
23Defender 34Defender 6Defender 33Defender
5Midfielder 30Midfielder 14Midfielder
7Forward 10Forward
9Forward
[/lineup]

If you want to absolutely guarantee that you'll never get laid again then you can combine the commands to show the away kit and the numbers, like this: [lineup=numbers away]

1
Goalkeeper
23
Defender
34
Defender
6
Defender
33
Defender
5
Midfielder
30
Midfielder
14
Midfielder
7
Forward
10
Forward
9
Forward
lineup code
[lineup="numbers away"]
Goalkeeper
23Defender 34Defender 6Defender 33Defender
5Midfielder 30Midfielder 14Midfielder
7Forward 10Forward
9Forward
[/lineup]

The fun doesn't stop there. Some people prefer to have the goalkeeper at the bottom of their lineups. Use the 'flip' or 'reverse' command [lineup=flip] and you get this:

1
Goalkeeper
2
Defender
3
Defender
4
Defender
5
Defender
6
Midfielder
7
Midfielder
8
Midfielder
9
Forward
10
Forward
11
Forward
lineup code
[lineup="flip"]
Goalkeeper
Defender Defender Defender Defender
Midfielder Midfielder Midfielder
Forward Forward
Forward
[/lineup]

Sometimes you may want to show more than one player in a position. If you separate the players names with a forward slash eg. Player/Player2 then it appears like this:

1
Goalkeeper
2
Defender
3
Defender
4
DefenderDefender2
5
Defender
6
MidfielderMidfielder2
7
Midfielder
8
Midfielder
9
Forward
10
ForwardForward2
11
Forward
lineup code
[lineup="flip"]
Goalkeeper
Defender Defender Defender/Defender2 Defender
Midfielder/Midfielder2 Midfielder Midfielder
Forward Forward/Forward2
Forward
[/lineup]

I've tested a few formations and it should be able to handle most. If you stick a load of spaces between players on a row then you can make something like this:

1
Goalkeeper
2
Defender
3
Defender
4
Defender
5
Defender
6
Defender
7
Midfielder
8
Midfielder
9
Forward
10
Forward
11
Forward
lineup code
[lineup="flip"]
Goalkeeper
Defender Defender Defender
Defender Defender
Midfielder Midfielder
Forward Forward
Forward
[/lineup]

Notes

  • The first player in your lineup is given the goalkeeper kit.
  • You must add 11 players. A "player" is considered to be a name with no spaces.
  • The maximum number of rows of players is 6 (including the goalkeeper).
  • The maximum number of players in a row is 5.
  • You can add 2 players in 1 position by separating players names with a forward slash (no spaces). eg. Player1/Player2
  • Add a few spaces between player names to force a larger gap between the players.
  • The [lineup] code will accept the following commands:
flip or reverse - Change the layout so the goalkeeper is at the bottom of the pitch: [lineup=flip]
away - uses the away kit for the player shirts: [lineup=away]
numbers - Shows the back of the shirts, numbered 1 to 11 by default: [lineup=numbers]
Add the actual squad number to the player by typing their name like this: 10Kane
You can combine commands: [lineup=flip away numbers]

Admin Admin Is it possible to make it so you get the error message if there's less than 1 'player' in the code. Noticed quite a few people presumably keep misclicking the lineup button and having a big empty green pitch before their posts. Cheers :adesalute:

Updated so you can now add up to 2 players in 1 position. Just add a forward slash between the player names.
