I don't know exactly what it is, but this Pinocchio guy just seems untrustworthy...

For the long term, FDB has authority, experience and an attacking blueprint. Benitez would seem to be a good option in terms of stabilising the ship, but doesn't excite me. Pinocchio seems too much like previous managers- done ok elsewhere, might be the next big thing, but won't last two seasons and will end up coaching in Azerbaijan.
He actually speaks pretty good English, but won't do it in front of the camerasDont like the idea of not having an english speaking manager, but I couldnt care if Pochettino is able to bring Lallana and J Rod!

I'd argue Harry did, when you look at the position we started in, but only just (and at least relative to who was in the top four). Not that its the point anyway.
Speaking of Pullis......to much boring football or worth a 5 month contract?

This is true, I read somewhere that he won't speak English until he is fluent.
Some people seem to have issue with this, I respect it.
I think its smart not to deal directly with the press until you actually can. Otherwise we all know they would have a field day with him - as it is the translator makes all interviews entirely bland and uneventful - which means no bad press...
Ahh this I was not aware of, I do wonder what he was shouting from the touchline if he hasnt speaking english at all..He actually speaks pretty good English, but won't do it in front of the cameras
True enough., his English is not the reason I don't want him as manager, I just think he's being judged on one season and to me that's a dangerous game.
There is often a manager that has a great season and his name is linked to various jobs, then next thing you know they are managing in the lower leagues..I just see this man as one of those.

your wish - is the Daily Telegraphs commandExactly this, he has to know from the off the media masses will actually start listening and grilling him now. Although we can all have sensible debate on here, how long would it take for a Paxton moanathon the minute we lose a game if he uses an interpreter?
If we get him if I was his advisor I would say get intense English lessons in the summer for your own sake.
You're making a very passionate case for him over and over, but one thing you can't make a case for is his lack of experience at the top level and the fact that, yes, he is still a flavour of the month manager.Well, while he left Espanyol at the bottom of La Liga there were other issues at play (eg budget slashed year on year) - he came out of the job with a lot of credit, not easy considering their position.
Since when he has had a season and a half in the premiership, where by he has immediately improved them, ridden out a pretty rough patch and delivered their best ever finish.
I appreciate people worry about a "flavour of the month" scenario with him, but the more I look into him the less fair I think it is.
He has been working toward management his whole life, has always been a leader (made PSG captain after only half a season) and was a student of Biesla (someone everyone loves). At 41 he has already managed about 4 years. Espanyol had him on course to manage them - he was coaching the womens team, was set tomove up to the second team when they sacked the manager and they gave him the top job ahead of schedule.
I think he certainly has something about him. Though there are of course plenty of valid concerns.

Curbishly. Moyes. Redknapp. Paul Jewell. Gary Megson. Owen Coyle. Avram Grant. Martin O'Neill. Walter Smith. David O'Leary. Seven-Goran Eriksson.
These are just a few names off the top of my head of managers who have either more PL and/or CL experience than Poch, or have, at some point, been a PL manager flavour of the month.
How many would you give the current job to?
