Management New Manager?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Maybe true, time will tell. He seemed to instill a lot of belief in their players and get them to be obedient to his plan, which sometimes was to defend and play for a point, and other times to go out and try to win. I think their attacking players like Bolasie and Puncheon were awful under Holloway but became very impressive as attacking flair players under Pulis.

You never know, could be the making of him.

Like Moyes I firmly believe he played negative (shit) football as a matter of choice, not necessity. Perhaps being forced to utilise more attacking players could be something of a revelation and he will get into it more?

There were weird stories about him last summer that after getting sacked by Stoke he went off to Spain to learn tiki taka :ade: the naked headbutt man, bane of arsene wenger, going off to do that, haha. I wonder..

If it's Lennon i'll give you a hand to beat it out of them

Anyone else getting bored of ex coaches and players criticising the club in the media?

Most of them are embarrassing themselves by following this 'more time' trend, mostly after the same knobends were calling for each sacking, transfer or hiring.

"They're in very difficult situation and one that they've been in too many times before in the last couple of years."

Last couple of years? Once, Clive.

I get so annoyed at the quest to make us sound like a manager merry-go-round, people counting David Pleat and Clive Allen as our managers on the basis we let them look after the team until a manager was found, blatantly ignoring the fact that HR was given time, and gave us practically no respect back in return.

Yes, lets give more time to Ramos who won 1 point in the first 10 games or so leaving us at the bottom, or AVB who was close to tears every time someone scored against us, or Hoddle who all but admitted he gave up after Southampton scored, or GG the gooner who was allegedly selling club secrets of whatever. Let's just carry on, ignore how Liverpool, Chelsea, United, West Brom, Norwich, Fulham, Southampton and so on have treated managers in recent years, pick on spurs ....

"Shock headline as one of Harry's mates can't get over being sacked"

[/end of rant]

Dont think we should start mocking the likes of Clive Allen personally....if we dont like what they are saying, then maybe its more of a wake up call than something to dismiss....

Been around the club for decades, and so has his family. His opinion is as valid as it gets whether we agree or not. If you want real ITK, then there it is.

That Jamie Rednapp gives me the shits, bloody bell-end

There's been De Boer ITK today:
Who: James 163
When: 16th May
Where: COYS

James163 on COYS:Hi Guys.

Had a very close family member in the box at the Europa League Final with Aaron Winter. As far as Winter was aware from when he spoke to him, FDB thinks he is coming to Spurs (Bergkamp is staying at Ajax though)

Wasnt sure where to put this but....

A few hours in the company of the deeply impressive St Johnstone manager takes you on a journey from tragedy to hilarity.

He has stories from his footballing past, as a goalkeeper in England, that make you laugh out loud, stories of former managers and their foibles, stories about Ossie Ardiles, one of his bosses at Newcastle, that make you wonder what planet the Argentine lived on sometimes.

"This is a good one," says Wright. "You'll like this. Ossie's my manager but he's not picking me. He was the type of manager who stuck by his first 11, which was great, if you were one of the 11.

"Pavel Srnicek was first-choice goalkeeper. Eventually Pav got injured and I came in. We lost 1-0 at Middlesbrough but I played really well.

"Ossie says he wants to give me a new contract. I says, 'Okay, but I want you to tell me why you haven't been giving me a game'. He said he'd seen me playing for Northern Ireland a while back and he wasn't impressed. I'd had a poor match, he said. He told me the game, the date, the venue, but he'd got the wrong guy. I said 'Ossie, that was Allen McKnight, not me.' He said, 'Really?'

"Ossie was priceless. So laid-back. No structure. Just turn up and play, play, play."

My Dutch colleague, a Feyenoord fan, was over in the UK yesterday and tells me everyone over there is sure FDB is coming in to Spurs.

However he's Feyenoord not Ajax, didn't know Sherwood had already been sacked and hadn't heard of Pochettino so... yeah, #ITK

I like the blanket statements in general that talk about giving the new manager time.

If I see siggy and Chadli in the middle with Townsend, rose, naughton and Lennon on the wings on the opening day, they are done.

Just giving someone time = success is the biggest misnomer out there.

This management situation has turned me bipolar, genuinely excited for either FDB or Poch and reckon whoever it is will be capable of great things (though I am a happy clappy optimist in all things spurs).
FDB was obviously a great player who did it all and now has a winners pedigree despite selling his best players year on year, but Poch has excelled everywhere he has been and somehow seems to combine the spurs way of attacking football with undertones of AVB defensive rigour...

Can someone just tell me who I should want? Otherwise I'll just end up with "grass is greener" thinking despite getting a manager I'm very happy to have... #spursy

Well as long as there are no excuses, i.e injuries or lack of alternatives we are stuck with Rose/Naughton right now, we have little choice but to play them. Chadli and Siggy though is a different matter with Sandro, paulinho, Bentaleb, Capoue and Dembele we have proper CM players, Chadli and Siggy look lost in the middle, it would require a lot of injuries for me to consider playing them in the centre.

Even if his tactics are fucking weird he deserves at the min a season and if he's resonable with us I see no reason to sack him at all and risk replacing him with an idiot.
