Stadium New Stadium

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The negative press around West Ham will make is almost impossible for a council to fund a stadium
Also a lot of people seem to think that once the ink dries on the printouts of the mock-ups the build is good to go. Chelsea seemed to think that they were going to start building their new ground next season, forgetting that people live in buildings attached to Stamford Bridge and that a lot of the local area doesn't necessarily want to live on a building site for four years. Everywhere has an Archway Steel that really doesn't want to be relocated, regardless of how shiny the stadium they're being replaced with is going to be.

If you want to build a new ground you have to accept it's probably going to be a decade-long project, with much of it spent going through court, and a lot of owners of clubs aren't really in for that level of long game.

When you look around, ours is the best so it's natural to be borrowing from us. Ours is still better and bigger, but I like the angular design of their proposal. Although ours is round it's actually very flat east and west as shown by the comparisons they've done, so it's even more similar. The comparisons with West Ham are pretty funny.

ours will be unique due to the sliding pitch and NFL link. Everton will certainly have the best stadium in the Championship... When all is said and done we're doing ours in a way to maximise revenue and secure our future with other events... what's the point in having it empty for half its life?

One of the chief architects behind Everton's new stadium has revealed plans to replicate Borussia Dortmund's 'Yellow Wall'.

American architect Dan Meis of MEIS Architects met with Everton supporters on Monday evening to provide an update to the progress of the plans for a new ground at Bramley-Moore Dock.

He met with fans at St Luke's Church, which is close to Everton's current home of Goodison Park.

Borussia Dortmund's Yellow Wall is 328ft long, 131ft high and holds 25,000 supporters

He said: 'We're planning on creating a very large home end in the south stand of the stadium which should be similar to Dortmund's Yellow Wall'.

'Depending on the final stadium capacity, the stand will hold 12,000-15,000 fans and we also want to include a concourse that will look back at the city, immediately by the home end that would be very cool.'

Meis said he wanted to make Everton's new stadium into a 'fortress', before adding that he wanted the club to have the 'greatest home ground in English football'.

They want to ensure the site, which is on the waterfront, is an iconic landmark for Liverpool

Plans were also unveiled that suggested the Toffees will install the biggest screens ever used at stadiums in the UK.

He also placed an emphasis on making sure that supporters are as close to the action as possible in an attempt to copy the current setting at Goodison Park.

It was also stated that there was a desire from fans to have a stadium that would have the capacity for at least 50,000.

The idea is to keep fans close to the pitch as possible - similar to how Goodison Park is now
Looks weird. More like revamp than a brand new stadium. Every thing seems a bit clunky. Plus their 'Yellow wall' is about 30% smaller than ours in terms of capacity.

It's also steeper, which makes me think it won't be future-proofed for safe standing like ours

Look at the images below. Outrageous what they have done. They have compared flat images from other stadiums with their own single tier which is at a slight angle. This gives the impression it is somehow steeper. Also I have just noticed their first row starts above ours. Also, I fail to see how it can be bigger and so much steeper than ours which was at the limit.

Is it me or have they just made their stand bigger? Look at the size of the rows. Can't be safe standing proof.

In any case they don't want to pay for it. It will never happen.

Everton are where we where 10 years ago. Concepts and ideas being floated about, we didn't get the single tier stand until the redesign with the new architects/builders. Also had a flirt with Stratford and rotating the pitch 90° in there.
Can't see their ground looking 100% like that when it's finished, as is the nature of the beast with these things. That's all after planning permission is granted and who's decided to pay for it.
