That glass roof panel work is scary shit though, makes the roof cassette work look a piece of piss.
Going up a ladder scares me tbh.

They've been doing that throughout the build, it's nothing new to the roof install.
Baring an earthquake or some other natural disaster it's on time mate. Plans already being made for test events etc. Money taken from all season ticket holders etc.
I know sod all about it too, just that builders are all slackers and always lateI would be inclined to agree looking at the amount of gaping holes everywhere, but I know sod all about stadium construction. They would have announced it by now if they thought it wasn't going to be ready in time, surely?
It's a fancy name for a roof panel. They've basically been prefabricated in a factory and have all the elements that are needed in one piece, such as insulation, soundproofing etc, and are designed to interlock easily with each other.
The roof is made up of lots of individual rectangles installed one at a time, which are called cassettes. Just like massive roof tiles.

It's the modern way of building, they have floor and wall cassettes these days too, they can chuck up buildings in no time with no messy insulation to worry about. Many many thanks to both of you...and no mocking either which I fully expected...I doff my cap and tug my forelock in appreciation.
The university I work for threw up a shit ton of dorms in no time at all thanks to this a few years back. Module rooms slapped together like Tetris with cassette walls and roof. Basically all the heavy lifting was doing the electricity, plumbing and water lines and such. It's the modern way of building, they have floor and wall cassettes these days too, they can chuck up buildings in no time with no messy insulation to worry about.
No, I'm just really good at bluffing, I've picked up a lot of stuff this last year, mainly from googling everything mentioned on the SkyScraperCity forum...ArtyB
Can I ask: do you have a background in construction or summat? Your posts in this thread are always knowledgeable and insightful.
