Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I can't watch basketball but I used to love playing it at school.
Dunno why but It was never a regular thing and no school teams like cricket or football.
Never played it after leaving school.
Same.

All I can say is get your arse to a live game, if you've thrown a basketball at school (don't laugh my American friends reading this, most of us Brits have never touched a basketball and those that have did so because their uncle bought one for Christmas because it was £5.99 vs £50 for a proper football) and you can reference that, then watch these guys throw one, my fucking God! Honestly in awe of almost every pass and move in the entire game. (expensive though).

I've done a couple of 6 months stints working in NY and after all the usual touristy stuff you'd expect someone to do in their spare time, I was taken to a court in Greenwich Village one June, it was the start of the "summer series" where there were 500(???) teams that play each other all summer. The place was packed, I mean hundreds and sometimes thousands of people there, one tiny court. I believe this ended up getting hyped by the arrival of Red Bull etc which means it became a touristy thing in its own right but for an outsider new to a country, sport and culture, it gave me a bit of confidence in rocking up to other courts just to watch and while away the hours of a sweltering NY summer. I highly, highly recommend this and for novice viewers, you won't know the difference between a pro and these guys (some of the pros played in this series I'm told).

However TV just kills it, makes it unwatchable.

Purely guessing but maybe there is more money in music than boxing???? One of the reasons NFL generates the most amount of money is because it takes 5hrs(???) to play a sodding game, so plenty of time for fans to eat and drink themselves stupid whilst at the venue. Are concerts longer than a boxing bout?? I’ve never been to a world title fight but on the telly it looks like they only turn up for the big fight and can’t be arsed to watch the under card????

You still have to turn up very early for boxing, as the start times are always very ambiguous and you never know how many rounds the under cards will go on for.

An average card of boxing is probably around 7 hours(ish). From a virtually empty arena/hall/stadium around 4pm to an almost full venue for the chief support around 10ish - main event around 11ish.

Been to many boxing events all around the country and they mostly follow that time line, been to Germany a couple of times for title events and they are like military operations. For example the main event will be at 10.32pm (not 10.31 or 10.33).

Only place I’ve ever been was York Hall (many times as lived not far way) LOVE this place. Great atmosphere as always packed no matter who’s boxing and rarely any trouble too. In fact love the crowd as it’s a real eclectic mix of backgrounds, race etc. God writing this has got me all nostalgic as I haven’t been for years.

So all pretty similar then for the big fights, just more razzmatazz and coked up chavs thinking they are Mike Tyson.

Not particularly relevant but I used to go swimming at York Hall, and we also had our school prize giving there.
My parish church was just around the corner.
I still consider myself a Bethnal Green girl, even though I haven’t lived there for many years, so any mention of that area stirs up the nostalgia of a simpler age.

Never went to the pool but in the basement they created a spa so used that a fair bit.

One thing of note was the shear number of people that were Spurs, the eel munchers from Westfield and their cor blimey gov links to the good ole East End and the Krays seemed to be a total myth, I only met and knew one from that manner. I’d say the area was mainly Spurs. Head a mile or so North into Hackney then unfortunately it becomes gooner central.

If I remember correctly a few years ago someone posted in here about a few pubs that were Spurs, I think they said the Salmon & Ball was.

Apparently more 'bad behaviour' after boxing events (lads squaring up to each other and sometimes going too far) than any other event - experienced in many stadiums

Hence no of boxing events capped.

But no doubt if they have no trouble after a number of boxing events they could apply to have more.
It's true you only have to look at Saturday's boxing thread to see one of the usual suspects losing it!

At present we can have 16 major non football events. That is over 10k attendance .
As far as I can work out we haven’t managed to have 16 in one year. Where are we to put all these events.
2 weeks of Adele, surely not. She’s just retired anyway.

Will probably take a couple of years to build up to the number of acts/events we are now entitled to have, but its good news - avoids us having to go back to council at the last minute as when Beyonce wanted 5 days and Spurs didn't have enough .event days free

Local people will do well out of a lot of temporary employment/extra shifts at stadium and local pubs/clubs/eateries plus a boost to many local businesses turnover.

Local transport was significantly improved (eg better train frequency both on match days and generally) when stadium was built but transport across London is tested whenever there is a major event whether at Wembley or Spurs stadium but particularly the most local transport. Good that Haringey demanded a limit on car use for visitors to the stadium which by and large seems to be being observed.

The Club will maintain its hugely popular community ticket scheme, ensuring local residents and community organisations continue to have the opportunity to experience events at the Stadium through the provision of complimentary tickets.

A 24hr priority ticketing window will also be introduced for concerts, ensuring local residents are at
the front of the queue to see world-class acts perform on their doorstep.
