Match Newcastle Away 1.30pm Sunday Sept 1

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

At least our away kit is acceptable for tv coverage.

Will the third kit be out soon?

Anyway they might be in a bit of strife at the back Botman out till Jan, Schar is suspended (did they appeal?)

String ball holding midfield for me

Biss Bentancur Maddison

Kulu Solanke Son

I have no idea what Tottenham will turn up next week. I don’t think they are great but on their day they can batter anyone. Quite similar to us in terms of at home we are very difficult to play against.
Hopefully lessons learned from last seasons game.
A high score draw for me. 2-2 or 3-3.

If Solanke is fit:

Vicario
Porro - Romero - van de Ven - Udogie
Sarr - Bissouma - Maddison
Odobert - Solanke - Son
I think is what we'll see. Though I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Kulusevski starts in place of Sarr.

Need to be on this from the jump. Hate this fixture over the last few years. They are such a bad match for us stylistically. Can defend very well in a low block, but so so dangerous on the counter with the added capability of dominating the middle through Bruno and Joelinton.

I must admit, I see a defeat. Which isn't the end of the world. Newcastle will beat most teams here. I just don't want to see us cave in like we have done. I want us to really go for it until the end and fight for every ball.

Win would be unreal. Draw is more than acceptable. Just hate it's before an International break.

If Solanke isn't fit, I'd start Richarlison for his physicality, and be prepared to sub him after say 60 mins if he not fully fit and bring on Kulusevski as a false 9

Equally we need to be prepared that its too soon for Odbert to last a full 90 mins so need to be prepared to bring Johnson on as sub - or really mix it up with Porro or Spence as a winger and other as RB.

I think we have a bigger squad now, and need to be prepared to use it to set the opposition different challenges by subbing players, whether we need to (as I think likely v Newcastle) or just to upset the opposition chosen tactics.

This was the ONLY game (discounting the Chelsea debacle) which we lost last season when all four of our first choice defenders played (and stayed on the pitch).

There's something specific about us as a club and that ground, regardless of the manager or personnel we employ.

Ange was incredibly arrogant to have not even watched the 6-1 from the previous season and this is where the "we just play our game mate" came from when challenged about tactics and tailoring to the opposition.

Playing our A game against this lot is asking for trouble. Gordon in particular ran the space behind Porro all game. We have to be smarter this time. It won't happen though 🤣
Before the last two seasons we had a great recent record against them. One defeat in 8 I think.
The 6-1 was a nightmare as everyone has fallen out with the management. Last season must have been Mickys worst game for us.
They have 3 centre halves out so we need to get at them. Midfield will need to play well.

this will be a far truer reflection of where the team is at. paddy power have already paid out on everton to be relegated.

start richy, son left and odobert right. richy might actually get some box service from odobert.
