I don't care as long as it's not another ex. Chelsea manager.

He seems to have a bit of grit to him that I think could win over fans. He'd be great IMO but people will turn their nose up at him because he's come from the SPL, the moment we hit some bad form the fans will get on his back.
Some managers have that extra oomph factor so when you hit bad form or start losing games it can buy some time with the fans and the media.
I don't know. We have Gil, Danjuma, Kulu (Not quick, but young and fit) and Richarlison who can all play a pressing game. Jeez even Lucas could be put in that bracket. Pretty much the central midfield fits... Bentancur, Hojbjerg (to some extent), Skipp, Bissouma, Sarr....That much may be true.... Depends on what you supplement it with, I guess.
The one thing I am fairly certain about is that we aren't equipped to play a high energy 4231. We'd need to virtually replace the entire front 4 and then buy back-ups too!
Paratrici is in charge of booking actual Diva's rather than just sporting one's now? That was down to Paratici and his department, he's in charge of that aspect of the business not the Board.

To me It's just Harry and Sonny pretty much that don't fit in a high tempo, pressing outfit.
Shouldn't Djed Spence be on there as well? The next manager needs to be suited for get the below young/youngish players playing their best and forming the core of a future team.
Richarlison, Bryan Gil, Romero, Royal, Porro, Sessengnon, Udogie, Skipp, Bissouma, Sarr, Bentancur, Kulusevski, Davine.
Not all of them will make it but this is the new core. If a manager isnt suited to building something with these then he shouldn’t be on the list.

I would like to be able to add Danjuma to that list but it doesn't look like he's going to get a chance (for as long as Conte's here anyway) and because of that he'll be sent back in the summer without any real assessment of his first team suitability. We took this player from under the nose of a club fighting relegation; the least we can do is make use of him.
This is why I want Conte gone. He's not going to give these players a chance so he's nothing to us but a huge waste of time, resources and money.
His style of football sounds good, but I have concerns about how long he would be committed for. It also sounds like he can be slightly volatile
I still think Kane could play in the 10. Someone here said look how stymied he is when he drops in to the 10. But they didn't think that it's because he doesn't have a 9 to occupy the other CB who is one of the 2 on his tail. If we played a 4-2-3-1with Kane as the CF he wouldn't have someone man marking him. However, I'm absolutely not convinced he could play in any forward role in a high tempo pressing team.Danjuma will be gone, Kulu isn't really a fit for a trad winger in a 4231, we don't have a proper #10 (and would therefore need to sign 2 for far of no back-up), Kane if he stays you'd find a way to work around which would mean the pressing happening beyond him (which would work better in a 433, 352 or 343)
The way I'd see it in terms of 4321:
Kane (Richy)
??? (???) / ??? (Kulu maybe) / Kulu(*) (Gil)
(*Though as prev. mentioned I don't think a trad RW role suits Kulu that well..... )
Just looks stodgy and forced to me.

On the Danjuma issue, if we got a manager in NOW who could make use of him then is there any reason we couldn't keep him? And if not, then surely we could find someone to fill that gap in the payroll?
But currently playing the No. 9 and 10 (false 9?) without anyone else central means teams can just man mark him without issue. If he's an actual no. 10 with a 9 in front of him then they can't do that and the space he needs is available, or the striker has less cover on him. Either way there's more for the DM/CB of the oppo to be worrying about.Which is why i think the false 9 role suits the creative aspect of his game the best. He can just drop back into pockets and exploit gaps that are left and also play quarterback on the counter-attack.

As for Porro/Udogie. If they are all that we Spurs fans appear to want them to be, then I would think that we should be able to employ a Kloppesque tactic of a back 4/2 with full backs who are more forward thinking a la Trent/Robertson. (Remember Kyle/Toby/Jan/Danny)
I realise as Spurs fans we have been indoctrinated over the past 5 years into the "don't concede" philosophy. But we've also seen the fun other (successful) teams have been having with the right personnel and system.
3-4-2, 3-4-3 aren’t inherently defensive. But both of those formations are without a shadow of a doubt conservative under Conte. And I’d prefer a back 2/4 no matter who is managing us.What's been lacking of late is the eager bodies running beyond Kane.... Son, Kulu, WBs...... But it's worked a dream for the most part during Jose & Conte's time. It's most other aspects of things that have been sketchy and inconsistent (to put it mildly).
...I do indeed remember KW & DR and it depends on how you supplement such players. Especially if your FBs aren't lightning quick like those 2. Even then, we still payed 3421 for much of our peak and/or was reliant upon Dembele being a beast.
Klopp's pool at their best has a highly industrious 3 man MF (Fabhino, Henderson & Wijnaldum) played in a 433..... And 3 fwd's that had the legs to press like mad-men.
Of course, the marriage of player attributes and system is everything.
To me 352, 343, 433 aren't inherently defensive formations tho.
It's funny though; after resisting for so long in the UK, 4231 has become the default thinking for so many fans and managers.... Just like 44-facking-2 before it.![]()
