So it looks like Levy and co. have learned absolutely nothing from the last manager search.

Luckily there are good options out there so even our last resort should be a decent choice. Unfortunately it will mean hitting the reset button and another transition period since the new guy will require different players in to suit his system.

This is why I want Amorim since Nagelsmann is looking unlikely. There wouldn't need to be much more work done on the squad besides the positions that need filling anyway. The squad thats currently been assembled suits his style of play.

Left overs.
After Brazil, Real Madrid etc have all chosen the best available candidates we will probably persuade someone left over to become our new manager. So whoever doesn't get picked will get us. My guess is Poch will get Real so I think Nagelsmann. If Poch was willing to choose us now, he would have been appointed.

Why make things up?

There are decent choices around and it shouldnt be complicated. First choices list Naglesmann, Poch and maybe De Zerbi. If they blow out that lot then move on the the best of the up and coming managers like Amorin, Slot, Kompany & Carrick. Do your due diligence and make a decision by mid June at the latest. Avoid managers that have seen better days and are just on the circuit like Luis Enrique, Galtier etc. Dont appoint anyone just to keep Harry Kane happy.

Zidane?

Oh fuck off.

I'd genuinely rather see Ahab get the job
youve gone too far GIF by Slice

If reports were true then Levy wanted Poch back when he was at PSG and unavailable, now he is out of work and we are out of a Manager, yet nothing doing...

Shows quite clearly the fickle mindset and reactive nature of our key decision maker, rather than have a defined plan and stick to it through the difficult moments, his head gets turned like a magpie spotting something shiny.

The longer they stick around the more it becomes clear to me that our success under Levy/Enic has come from striking lucky at exactly the right time, rather than a long term grand masterplan.

According to those same reports we wanted JN even more that same summer.......

Cool...... I'm down with that.

So can we all agree to stop with the self-indulgent whinging until mid June then......?

Nope. The fact we're here again means they deserve all the criticism that comes their way. Besides my simplistic approach is unlikely to be at the top of their thoughts.

Valid criticism is not the same thing as whipping ones self into a daily frenzy of pre-emptive worst-case scenario melting for the next THREE months (god help us!).

Perhaps if people are truly hellbent on embarking on daily episodes of fantasy-roasting ENIC they can at least strive to just whack it all in the ENC thread.....

We’d need him to make a decision before the season ends and I don’t see him doing that. He’d probably want to wait and assess all his options first. That’s totally understandable but if he doesn’t agree to join, we need to move on. We can’t wait all summer for him to decide.

There's 6 or 7 (8?) weeks left.... Meanwhile JN was still BM manager just a few days ago.
