From the BBC...Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has told former manager Mauricio Pochettino he does not want the Argentine to return to the club during talks over a potential return. (Star)

So... Levy held talks with Poch about returning and told him he didn't want him returning?

The Star should stick to lettuces!🤦🏻‍♂️

I hope we can find a manager who actually wants to be here

Then we'll be shopping in the Rodgers/Potter or up and coming category. Any actually elite or even 2nd tier manager will come here for a big pay-packet or because they've burned other bridges, ala Mourinho or Conte.

I mean, to be fair, Potter had his doubters even at Brighton. Mostly with his teams creation of the wrong kind of chances at goal.

De Zerbi was praised for his work in a top 5 league prior to his work at Brighton, where they look a lot better under him than they did under Potter.

We could have used that excuse of Pochettino at Southampton. But instead we went and got it done and the rest is history

I think that’s how we should be thinking too. If we are certain De Zerbi is the one to follow in Poch’s shoes, so to speak, then we should go for him. Taking a risk on that level of manager is worth it if we think they are the one. A big pressure to get it correct of course because if you don’t then the risk is substantial, but as we’ve seen with Mourinho (and to an extent) Conte the risk is there anyway (and we aren’t winning anything) so why not give it a go.

I’m not against De Zerbi at all.

Just think it’s still hard to judge how god he is at this early stage.
It's it really an early stage? He's been doing good in 3 years in Sassuolo, 1 year in Shaktar Donetsk. Before that a couple of seasons in Italy. He's been coaching since 2013. For me it's not really stages. It's about time of. He is as experienced as Pochettino was when we got him, or even a bit more experienced.
