The Pottertrain has been derailed. He did slightly better at Brighton than his sacked predecessor and his replacement is doing better. Brighton scored 42 goals in 38 games last season. They already have 39 after 22 games this season.
Potter won in his final league game with Brighton 5-2.

Saying that Potter did slightly better than Chris Fucking Hughton is beyond stupid.

Who is to say they wouldn't have climbed a couple of league spots each year if Houghton stayed on? That is all they did after he left, climbed a few places in the league. And whined every season they would do better if they scored more.
Just like Chelsea now.

To be honest, I don't know what the point of him still being here is?

Top 4 is in our grasp, but that's not a trophy, nor should it be deemed a success. Before the season started top 4 should have been minimum. The only reason I can think that he's sticking around is a bonus from getting the club into the top 4.

I want Poch back, which I know others dont, but each to their own. We're miles behind City and United, and now behind Woolwich, was is embarrassing considering the last 5 years we've been ahead of them. Under Poch we played great football, it was exciting, and we had a manager who loved the club as much as we did. We played to win, not to avoid defeat.

If anyone is in charge of a rebuild, I'd want it to be him. Life without Kane almost certainly begins this summer, we need to make sure we get it right.

Potter was superb at Brighton. Chelsea was the last club he should have joined, but the chance came around and he couldn't refuse it.

Brighton played great football, goals were missing. He's set them up for success. He'd have been much better joining Spurs, Liverpool or Woolwich than Chelsea.

Maybe because they weren’t improving under Hughton like they were with Potter? Who is to say they wouldn’t be in the same position if potter stayed?

This has to be the dumbest take I’ve heard in a while, equating Chris Hughton with Graham Potter.

Potter just reminds me of another Gerry Francis. His teams have always struggled to score, would have much preferred Howe if i had to choose between them.

As long as we get someone who has a vision to build an exciting attacking team that busts a gut each game then i'll be happy. The biggest challenge this summer will be clearing out the deadwood to make spaces in the squad and hopefully bring in some ££ and free up wages.

One of the reasons his teams underperformed their scoring metrics was because they didn’t actually have high quality individual attackers. What his teams did do was often out create teams with better individuals.

Unfortunately he inherited a team already struggling to score and win games, a team without a “main finisher”, that’s how he got the job.

I agree, he’s not found a solution to that problem yet.

You mean to tell me that he isn’t telling the players to not score?

If thats your main priority, why not just go for someone like Bielsa instead? I don't remember being entertaining in Poch's last 12 months.

Assume you remember being entertained by Poch's sides before that though? Or is your memory selective?

BRING BACK POCH. DEAL WITH IT. SUCE MES BOULES!

But they're scoring plenty with De Zerbi and playing much more entertaining football whilst Chelsea cant score a goal for love nor money. It cant be coincidence. I was alright with Potter as an option June 2021 although wanted ten Hag but wouldnt touch him with a bargepole now. Getting an AVB feeling about him in that he just cant cope with that level of pressure and scrutiny and the quality of football at both Brighton and Chelsea hasnt been particulaly enthralling under him.

We'll find out in the not too distant future, as he'll soon be ex chelsea which is all Daniel needs.

I'd bet both my nuts he fails and we're all bored out of our fucking minds watching us shoot blanks.

Better than being bored out if our minds watching this shit, at least he can set a team up that actually creates chances

I'd rather beat City, Chelsea, and West Ham playing the way we do, than lose to them playing tippy tappy BS.
Go and watch some of these games. This is what you'd get in spades

Chelsea are the worst they have been in 20 years and significantly worse than the guy before. If you're still on the Pottertrain, you're going the wrong way.

But like I said, we'll find out as Levy will fucking employ him, you watch.

City was a good performance, but that was helped by the fact that the way they set up suits us by giving us space to play into with their high line.

I thought we were horrible in the first halves against west ham and Chelsea and the only reason we did better in the second is because the game opened up for us which is the only time we seem to be able to get a result.

So no I wouldn’t rather we play shit football against teams who either play in a way that suits us since we won’t be playing man city 38 times a year. Or against teams who eventually open themselves up because they have no choice. We might as well have tony pulls in that case.

Also I do think that Potter has failed at Chelsea, I just think it’s fucking stupid to act like he didn’t do a good job at Brighton.

I don’t know if he’s the answer but if it’s between him and Conte I’d pick Potter.
