I just see it as similar to the situation with conte, where he isn’t willing to commit either.

Obviously I don’t know what they’re thinking but they might just see it as a stopgap where they can make a shit ton of money.

Just assumed you'd have something in mind to provoke that doubt.....?

.........You just assume that HE thinks he's too big for us then?

Managerial shelf life tends to be short unless there's a real connection to the club. Ten Hag can easily be a success there and still be off in 4-5 years.

If Carrick proved he could succeed here under an investor ownership model, he'd 100% be at the top of the list of candidates there whenever that job is open again. And given his deep ties to that club and their always considerably higher finances, I have no doubts he'd be off.

Still, in the short term it would have meant we succeeded which is better than treading water with shite football which is what we've seen for the last several years.
I wouldn’t expect him to be our Ferguson so I wouldn’t be that bothered if he left after a few years. As you said most managers don’t last long anyway.

Has anyone linked Daniel in on this definitive survey?
I'm surprised he hasn't already actioned the mandate of the people.

I want Poch. Unashamed to say I love what he did for this club. I don't even care that he won't win us trophies. I think it's a in the lap of the gods thing now. If everything aligns on each round of a cup we might win one. If Toni, a man who was apparently at the peak of his powers can't get anywhere near the line let alone over it then who is going to?

Let's have someone we love, someone who loves us. And some decent entertainment for our money.

Enrique would improve us but the commitment issue would probably still be there so I’m not sure if it’s worth it.

But if we get him I think even if he left in 12 months he would leave us in a good place.
I don’t see why he wouldn’t stick around. Unlike with Spain, Enrique would have the best striker in the world to build his high press possession system around, rather than the likes of Morata.

If anything, I do think he would build a great base to play the “Tottenham way” again

Honestly, yes. He’d be going from Barcelona and Spain… to us.

But if Paratici is still the DOF and he wants him I’d back it even if it’s short term. I think he could build a good foundation for someone else to take over.

Stylistically Enrique would fit us very well.

He plays a attacking brand of football without sacrificing defense (Barca fans thought that he was boring before he won them over).

I think the players would all benefit from playing possession football, especially players like Son, Kane and Kulusevski. The more possession we have, the less pressing they have to do during a game.

And after this season, it’s clear players like Son and Kane can’t really press over the whole season anymore. Even if it isn’t Enrique, I believe it should be a possession based manager rather than a high tempo direct one

He's also flexible with how he plays. When he had Iniesta and Xavi they played a more tiki taka inspired style. But when their legs went he went for a more direct style and used midfielders like Rakitic more like extra bodies in attack, not too diffirent from how we use Pierre and Rodrigo.

It could definitely work. Having a guy who is not just one system/formation could do us good.

For sure. Tactical flexibility is something we’ve been crying out for for a while now. I do think his possession style will work though. We have a one of a kind player in Harry Kane who can not only contribute in all passages of play but is also the finisher and world class striker that can penetrate park the bus teams, something his Spain team just didn’t have. He could fulfill both roles. A 2 in 1 player

Spurs are looking for a new manager...

general election uk GIF by BBC

He just signed a long term contract with Forest, obviously he can leave but I don't think it would be a good look to do that after their owners showed a lot of faith in him by giving him that contract at a time when people thought he was going to get the sack.
Give over

He ain’t gonna give a fuck whether it’s a good look or not if he can step up to Spurs

Shocked Carrick only has 5 votes so far.

So weird... That picture feels so old, but also like the start of the modern era for us.

Was so gutted when he left. Thought he was mustard and yet it took years for the spoiled united lot to appreciate what they had in him............ w⚓s

(Same as Berba.... He was just another player to them whereas for us he felt like the second coming.)
