If this is true it’s basically the club admitting they fucked up for 4 years and wasted everyone’s time.

I guess it means if we aren’t going to get Tuchel or Luis Enrique that is probably for the best. Young and up and coming you would think Kompany, Amorim, Carrick etc.

I don't care tbh, if the report is true I'm happy they've finally woken up.

Although it is odd that its taken them this long to figure it out.

I'm not even sure who I want anymore.

I personally wanted Carrick and to start and reset under him. But thats never going to happen. De Zerbi was another one but I don't know why he'd even come here since he's doing well at Brighton and can get a bigger club in a season or two. I thought Enrique would be a good choice as well but we'd need to have a long term vision to actually adopt his style of play even after he leaves which I don't really see happening.

Postecoglou and Gallardo feel like the type of appointments that have worked out for us in the past.
Luis Enrique (Martinez) is still my go to pick.

But I also think that if we are smart, we'd go for someone at one of the big clubs in the Netherlands or Portugal, maybe Scotland for Postecoglou. A manager that is used to competing at the top of the table and for trophies. But who is also used to having to rebuild his team with some regularity. And then let that manager establish a real culture shift at the club.

Amorim, Schmidt, Slot or Postecoglou would all appease the fans as far as the football goes.

Too early for carrick who rem et was with OGS at manure. Same with Vincent. Look what happened with lampard Stevie g and vieara. Lampard was doing okay Derby got them to play offs. He should have stayed there another year or two. Brighton manager is prbly the best fit. His done a few years in Italy playing good attacking football. Continued in sane vein at Brighton. Thing is would he leave after less than a season there?
Most importantly don’t pay any new manager a kings ransom. Let them earn their money. Both cunte and Jose are/were paid £15M / yr. so no incentive to do anything especially trying to actually coach the players.

Thats a really good point. Often times theres a false dichotomy between win now managers and project managers. When in reality there are managers who have done both. Granted, it might not be in the top leagues, but they have still won and can carry the winning mentality over to us which is what we need.

Amorim and Postecoglou are great options in that case.

Stylistically it's Schmidt, Slot or Ange for me. But Amorim could work as well.

Starting to think it might be De Zerbi and hope it is. Ticks a lot of boxes and really does look like the next top manager. We probably get one chance to appoint him before other big clubs get involved. I know Brighton are a superbly well run club but he's turned that side into arguably the best to watch in the division. Feels like the next Poch , done well elsewhere and then done great work at a premier league team.

For me I want a risk taker. The reason why I like Kompany is not only has he got Burley smashing the Championship playing great football he believes in it.

Went to City and in the first half the comparably shit Burnley team tried to take the game to City and played some good stuff, quality difference player for player was immense and in the end they lost 6-0 to a brilliant City team but there was no fear trying to play the right way. Most championship managers would have just parked the bus and still lost by the same score.

He might be too soon but I want someone like that. Someone who believes in front football football, has a style the club can build around long term. Our history and our motto is about attacking and taking risks. If that manager is De Zerbi or whoever but the reason why Poch is so loved by the fans is he developed the players and made us play with balls mostly getting you off your seat. We need a long term manager who is great at growing players and plays with balls.

I don’t want anymore defensive managers and I don’t want a possession manager who wants possession for the sake of possession. I want someone who will push the boundaries and yes that might mean like Ten Hag you lose a game 7-0 while building the side but we have to take risks.

Roger Schmidt might be our guy.

I'd cry tears of joy if he got appointed.

The optimist in me is hoping that the reason Conte is here is because the manager we want cant take over yet because they're still under contract. Also, Poch got to overhaul the squad when he came in and if the tweet posted earlier about the club is accurate, then they're finally coming to terms with the fact that we need a proper rebuild.

Isn't the fact that Brighton are ran very well mean that he's a good manager?

Surely the reason a well ran club are appointing him is because of how good he is.
Yes, I mean it looks like Brighton have a clear strategy and vision of what type of football they want to play and they recruit players according to their vision, not necessarily for the manager. The manager comes in the club and finds a team that can fit his tactics, so that makes things much easier to hit the ground running. On the other side let’s take Spurs for example, we bought a bunch of players without a real strategy. Conte came, tried to sort the mess, we bought some players who might fit his tactics, but then Conte could leave at the end of the season. Then what? We’re going to bring in a completely different manager who will have the same headache trying to figure out who stays and who leaves. By the end of that filtering process, he gets sacked because results went downhill. Repeat, repeat.
