Never really been easy for Nagelsmann at Bayern. Back when Mané got injured the football took a bit of a dip and Nagelsmann were already feeling a bit of heat at the time. Also the opinions of old men like Kahn, Beckenbauer etc weren't in his favour. There were also rumours that the elder generation of players at Bayern weren't happy with all the chopping and changing of systems. Things seemed fine lately and only a crazy spell of wins from Dortmund seemed disruptive. But the rant from Nagelsman lately suggest something wasn't quite right in the dressing room. The leak of tactics to Bild before the Leverkusen game had him speaking of a rat in the squad and it probably broke the camels back

Before he took the Bayern job I really wanted him here. Him being young and confident I felt like he would embrace the challenge it would be to climb the mountain Spurs seems to be. I haven't really changed my mind despite his spell at Bayern. I loved how his first three games at Leipzig he employed three different systems (obviously helped that they won all three), and I'd really welcome this after Conte's rigid ONE WAY of doing things. I guess the biggest concern would be our inept players would have him sacked after six month

I'm still very skeptical. He's a brilliant tactician, but his overly detailed approach may lose a lot of players, as did Conte's (although, in his favor is the fact he doesn't have just ONE fucking system like Conte does).

I think we need someone who will keep it simple (like Conte probably did when he joined), but who is a master motivator. Someone who will make the players want to run through a wall for him. I don't see Nagelsmann being that manager.

Interesting article about the dark side of JN.

Nagelsman being available instantly makes him 100% the one to go for.

He is top tier.
People said that about Conte.

I and a minority of others never believed in Conte. His success was a product of a heavy investment and inheritance of good squads at previous clubs. He can get a reaction out of players short term, but I'm still to be convinced he's top tier.

I will say that Nagelsmann plays a better brand of football so that already gives him the upper hand for me. Whether he will be successful with us, again regardless of the manager they have to deal with Levy and we all know how that goes.

Can't sleep, having a late night scroll through twitter and seen this. I mean, come on...

Was trying to understand why the hype is so huge for Nagelsmann and clocked that it’s like retracing back to before Jose and back to a more optimistic time when the club was still on the up.

Almost like getting chance to find out that what if that never happened.

Being rational there is no reason to think he won’t have exactly the same problems that Poch, Jose, and Conte all had with the culture and wage structure but maybe gives Levy the chance to what if as well and make the changes back then that were already needed.

It feels like our squad has constantly been told they are not good enough.

Poch with his 'painful rebuild' and Mourinho and Conte telling fans and owners that is not realistic to expect us to compete with the squad we have.

If the coach doesn't have faith and confidence in his squad, its going to affect the players.

That being said, with the corruption and money in football it is hard to see how Spurs (who seemingly play by the rules) can compete under the current owners. Chelsea, United, City; and potentially now Newcastle can spend what ever they want with no ramifications.

The champions league final was really a once in a lifetime chance for Spurs that will unlikely be ever repeated.

Eh I’m not thrilled about Nagelsmann. I just feel like at Bayern he’s done the same/worse as all their previous managers. At Leipzig also about the same as subsequent. Work at Hoffenheim was impressive but not sure he took teams to a new level since. I guess CL semis but during the covid year and one game rounds that was just such a random time. That said, I guess his resume isn’t any worse than a guy like De Zerbi who I’d prefer. I do like the tactical flexibility he seems to have. Between him and Poch I’d probably go Poch if only for the feels.

What happens if a new manager comes in and makes nice noises about the squad and we end up with the same outcome?

I guess if the style of football is more enjoyable and aggressive instead of passive like the last two, fans will at least feel better about the club.

Pretty much all the bayern fans in the replies are disappointed and confused. We should probably try and take advantage

Of the Bayern fans?

He just isn't the right fit.

I've never seen a more perfect fit for Spurs, when it comes to elite managers, than Nagelsmann.

I'm not going to cry if we don't get him. He can probably fit any club in world football and there are many I imagine he'd rather go to than Spurs. But that is the sort of profile we need our next manager to be.

Young, wanting to play football the right way and wants to play and improve young footballers.
