Unemployed manager and his staff having lunch with his unemployed DOF friend *cough cough*

Fs9PrgzX0AI00zk
Interesting. Thats the DoF fella we got linked with last week?

Cant say the going to work to Bayern on a skateboard or Harley really does it for me either tbh.
He strikes me as someone who needs to grow up. He’s had this meteoric rise in the game and he appears to have let it get to his head. My suspicion is that Bayern thought he was a complete cock and just wanted him gone.

The girlfriends, the clothes, the skateboards; it wasn’t personality, rather attention-seeking.

It’s likely been a hugely humbling experience for him and his reaction will be instructive.

We know this attitide doesn't work. We need someone hungry that wants to be here and improve the club not just their reputation or someone that sees it as a 'filler' until something better crops up.
We need someone who will do what Poch did when he started, which is create unity with and among the dressing room as it existed, not as some hypothetical future investment project.

I'm very unsure Poch remains the right guy to do that, the divisions in the dressing room began under him and his relationship with Levy has a ton of existing baggage on top of what's inherent with the Spurs job.

But Poch made the football side of Spurs one coherent present-tense whole when he started (as did Jol, as did Redknapp), and we need that back.

Any manager is going to want and require investment to make any push with this squad. But that's only part of the work and the work's gotta start on day 1. Conte was always playing a two-timey game on that and I suspect a Nagelsmann would too.

Agreed but what we really need is quality players who can play in the Premiership

If De Zerbi and Nagelsmann have doubts coming here then there's zero point trying to convince them. We should want the next manager to actually want to come here and not just take 15m a year and feel like they're doing us a favour in some way.

Leaning towards Slot now.
Fair point. Although I'd prefer to see the club try to address the issues that lead these managers to have doubts rather than simply side step around them.

Im sorry to disappoint you all but Pochettino is not coming back. If we were that desperate for him we would've at least heard some murmurs.

We had the chance to appoint him on two separate occasions in 2021, it's just not going to happen.

One thing you all need to be very wary of is we're now fully infamous for failure.
We're not going to be top choice for most coaches worth having.
If you limit the search to coaches who "want to be here" you're picking up noobs with absolutely no experience at all. Most of them will fail spectacularly.
I swear you could have said that about Liverpool up until 2014, but that didn't stop Klopp from taking the job.
