You don’t speak for meWe don't think the asking price was too high.
Our chairman apparently did.
Then again, he doesn't like paying for nice things. If you'd asked him for 12 instead of 15 he'd have probably paid. It's the principle for him you see. If something is priced like it's good enough, he doesn't want it.
This I agree with more …. But 20m for slot. Piss takeLevy gets excited by paying less for good things.
The quality of the thing becomes secondary for him in comparison to getting a thing for less than it's worth.
He does want good things but not if he has to pay for them.
The idea of Slot was his chance to prove everyone wrong and that he's right. He could go and get a top class manager for less than market value because they were from a lower league.
Problem is, that club saw him coming. Everyone does now.
You can tell this is his mentality from all this talk about bringing in a data model like Brentford and Brighton. He is determined to prove the entire world of football wrong and win things his way by paying less for good things.
I'm not saying it makes sense, but it's there for all to see.
He won't pay a bug release fee. He just won't do it.
The £20m number is either made up, or the opening offer.
If you want something, you negotiate.
But he has no bottle.
At least with players, he has a coach putting pressure on him
I also don’t believe for a single second that he preferred to stayOh come on he loves to negotiate, he loves the squeeze of a deal no matter if its for a manager or a player. if anything it's his love of negotiating every last cent of a deal that winds most people up. In this case it seems it's Feyenoord who didn't want to negotiate and Slot himself who would rather stay there.
You don’t speak for me
IF it was 20m then I agree they can fuck off
What’s poor is not being aware of this fee so balls deep
Don't really care about the amount and really 20m for the most important managerial appointment for a loooong time, is peanuts.
We will blow way more than 20m on a bad player this summer. We paid Conte 15m for one year.
But to get this far and not know what it's going to cost is a shambles.
What due diligence were they doing for 50 days that didn't include researching what it would cost. Ball park at least.
#backnuno. I agree we've not reached Nuno yet but another couple of weeks of this? Its really not doing whoever it will be any favours.I mean, Nono was last resort and didn't have anyone's respect or any authority
The only people that liked him were the idiots on here that excuse everything Levy does.
Yeah but no Champions League money now.Don't really care about the amount and really 20m for the most important managerial appointment for a loooong time, is peanuts.

Not a WINNER...
You sure it wasn’t a Brentford supporter at last weekend’s match that you heard it from …Think I heard one pundit the other week say be careful what you wish for about our situation as if the club is in good hands. Needs a change of direction this club.
If fees for coaches under contract really were the issue, why not just grab Poch back when he was basically saying he'd be happy to return?
None of it adds up because Levy clearly has no plan.
That's a bit much.
Considering you were probably happy with Slot and quite obviously won't give up. Jesus christ, grow up ya fanny.
