When we had Conte that was really the time to buy quality players, we were in the CL as well. Now we have nothing to offer except the training ground.

No, I don't think he'll be a success. Success for Tottenham Hotspur should be challenging for and winning major titles.

We have the wealth. We have the resources. And we have the fanbase.

Unfortunately, we don't have the owners. That's the missing ingredient.
For them, winning is too hard. They're only interested in money, profit and third party stadium revenue.

No manager can succeed.

So, although I'd love to see him succeed, I personally think he's a cheap option but I'll support him when things turn sour and, I think, or at least hope, the majority of the fan base will too

I think we've reached a tipping point now. The fans anger will immediately turn on Levy. And rightly so.
Not just a cheap hire, but a distraction. Postecoglou is a big personality that fans will like and hopefully they won't notice when Kane leaves and the wheels start to fall off. Spurs will start losing 4-3 and people will go on about how at least we're getting to see attacking football. I think it is a smart move by Levy because he will be able to get away with at least two years where people will excuse mid-table football.

Levy doesn't spend the money needed to get the type of quality players that demand CL or a certain manager.

The level he shops at isn't affected by having Champions League or Conte.

Just being in the prem is enough to attract the players in Levy's price range.

it’s not Enrique vs Conte, Chateau Nope Dope.

It’s the players Enrique attracts vs the players Ange attracts.

Maybe we can replace Kane with a 28 year old striker from Celtic.

Maybe we can’t.

Maybe the manager makes no difference to which players will come at Spurs because everyone knows this is Mr Levy club and we never win shit.
Truth be told it’s the money thats the biggest attractor for all bar a few players. They can’t say that so will talk up the club and manager in other ways. A lot of players will go through multiple coaches in their time at a club.

If it's Ange, then I hope his priority is a new GK and replacing Dier and Hojbjerg in the first XI.

Yes, Levy is going to risk losing value on a £2.5 billion asset as well as further European Cups revenue for the sake of a commercial opportunity in a country of 25 million people where football isn’t even the most popular sport. And he’s going to do this by hiring a manager who left there a decade ago and by playing a pre-season game as opposed to signing a star Australian player and have him sit on the bench as a squad player where he can do no harm.
I used to think that all the idiots in North London wore red. The last couple of months have convinced me otherwise.
Having said that we now have a COF in Munn and a manager in Ange both Aussies. From a country where football is prbly 5th popular. Wouldn’t be suprised to see mark bosnic as DOF. Round off the set. Not sure where levy is taking club but it’s certainly not got anything to do with top level football.

what we do know about ange, is he turns up as the underdog and doesn’t back away from a fight. Character is such a big part of football so he won’t be scared, or naive enough to think there won’t be critics.

people say he’s weak and a yes man…? I don’t see it, he’s a realist. I’m sure season expectations will be set, and he’ll be honest enough in his assessment. We’ve had too many snakes recently.

will he work out? Who knows but his character attributes perhaps give him a better chance than others.

and to the point about him not being able to convince Kane to stay. We just have to rip that plaster off sooner or later. He’s not going to be around forever anyway, he’s not Peter Pan

Mate, I told you that I had a drink with Harry’s agent.
Yes mate. Of course mate.
And a pint with a few spurs employees.
And lunch with the Celtic bloke.

Yes mate...
