Maybe Postecoglous was who they wanted all along once they hired Munn. Didn't hear anything that sounded like they got to a serious point with other candidates and, in the case of Slot, it sounds more an agent using Spurs supposed interest to get the deal he wanted at Feyenrood. If there had been an actual process you would think they would have at least had some preliminary contact with Pochettino. I suspect this was the deal all along once Munn was hired and they just sat back and let agents and media types speculate. Now that Celtic's season is done they can go ahead with it.
They have wasted 3 months though. Ange goes on holiday Tuesday. When’s he back to get his feet under the table. Transfer window opens 14th June. Hardly any time to assess players. Bet we move for Celtic players as that is all he will know about. Forget Maddison , Barnes, tielamans, ravia, etc. the delay has set us back so much abd is gonna be costly. Toon , goons, dippers will be already getting players signed.

No, I don't think he'll be a success. Success for Tottenham Hotspur should be challenging for and winning major titles.

We have the wealth. We have the resources. And we have the fanbase.

Unfortunately, we don't have the owners. That's the missing ingredient.
For them, winning is too hard. They're only interested in money, profit and third party stadium revenue.

No manager can succeed.

So, although I'd love to see him succeed, I personally think he's a cheap option but I'll support him when things turn sour and, I think, or at least hope, the majority of the fan base will too

I think we've reached a tipping point now. The fans anger will immediately turn on Levy. And rightly so.

You seem to be unaware of why you actually dislike Levy/ENIC.

The haven't taken a penny of profit out of this club as a dividend for the last 16+ years. It's all gone back into the club.

Personally I have a huge issue with many of the decisions Levy has taken that have affected the football we've ended up seeing. No problem with how he's improved our profitability or how much of those profits have been re-invested in the football club (all).

Do you not see this appointment as a sign maybe Levy is stepping away from the footballing side of things to focus on those other revenue streams? This feels like Munn's pick to me and hopefully they can now find a DoF who will work well with Ange to completely change our approach to recruitment right the way down to the youth teams.

We can knock Levy for neglecting the football side of things but we have seen an increase in spending recently, it's just been spent really badly with lots of really bad decisions as well. Levy wouldn't be getting stick for maximising our revenue if we were buying well and performing on the pitch. That's the only way we are going to compete with the big money teams under these owners. Look at Liverpool for example, they hated FSG when they were shit but after getting a good manager in and spending well suddenly the protests stopped.

we said that with conte, we said that with mourinho

there is more chance of winning the lottery then levy stepping away

If it is Ange, one thing I have read is that Celtic signed a lot of new players last season - I think including the January window it was 13 or 14 players.

We need a high turnover of players this summer, we have a ton of shit here. So I hope a high turnover of players is on the cards for this summer, I am sick to fucking death of Dier, Davies, Lloris etc just mooching about the place and being average to shit.

I don’t see any reason why this appointment suggests Levy is taking a backseat. He’s appointed a manager without a DoF. Maybe Munn has a bigger role than first expected?

Levy will always be involved. It is what it is. In football, finances are your strategy.

True but in hindsight Paratici probably wasn't the guy for that job. He seemed more of a wheeler dealer with good contacts but not sure he had a vision or plan for the whole football side of things from top to bottom. Conte and Mourinho also are managers who wanted ready made players who weren't interested in developing youth or the long term future of the club.

The way I see it and hope it is going to be is like:

Levy: Focus on the non football side bringing in extra revenue from stadium, sponsorship etc then give a budget to Munn.

Munn: Basically Levy's job now - Decide where the budget goes - scouting, youth team, transfers etc.

DoF - In charge of recruitment of players and other football operations.

Manager- Tells DoF what he wants/needs and they only buy what they both agree to!

Surely Levy has realised that he can't be involved in football decisions anymore and he needs to focus on what he is actually good at - gokarting beyonce etc :) I could be dreaming though!

None of it really makes sense. Knowing Conte's track record, a normal business organization would already have done due diligence on a number of managers and have some idea of who they wanted to pursue. They could of had someone in during the season and perhaps have salvaged a decent finish. I think it all goes back to connections with Munn. We had Paratici and everything was tied to Serie A and one set of agents. Now it is Munn and we've gone all in on Pacific. It all seems more connection driven than getting the best football people.

Yep connection driven and levy / the board can’t see it!

Levy doesn't spend the money needed to get the type of quality players that demand CL or a certain manager.

The level he shops at isn't affected by having Champions League or Conte.

Just being in the prem is enough to attract the players in Levy's price range.
That's part true but say we wanted to bid for Martinez to replace Kane, we'd have no chance of getting him now.

Tricky as 13 players for Celtic is probably the same outlay as a tin of tuna.

I’m not really sure what to think. Brave new world perhaps. At least Ange is a fighter, and not a shit throwing everyone under the bus, and not acknowledging his own flaws

Conte was a fighter the only people he threw under the bus was those who deserved it. Ange can fight all he wants but in the end it won't be enough to stop him being undermined by Levy. First test is to sell Kane and get a quality replacement in quickly. If Levy gets that wrong Ange will be gone quicker than you can say two points from eight games.

Levy literally just hired a new executive with the title of Chief Football Officer. He is definitely trying to step away from the football decisions.
I don't think he has ever been one to have a view on whether this or that midfielder is a good player, but as long as he has the final say on financials (which he will never give up) he is right in the middle of football decisions.

The same names come up year in, year out. We'll get linked to players we've chased for years.

As for Celtic players, well, we need a goalkeeper....
