We’ve

we’ve never been successful in the PL era. Poch just helps people maintain the denial.

Weird picking out Bergvall btw he was much much better than Bentancur today
I haven't picked out anyone and I'm not talking about today. God this fan base so literal and limited. Bergvall was illustrative of buying development players and pretending they were first team ready thats all. That's all. I never mention Pochettino . I still belive we could easily be successful if we have the right priorities leadership and sporting ethos in place It's not at all impossible.

What a miserable post.
Most teams, who could defend, would be glad of that forward line plus Madders and Kulu.
We just need a back 5 and a defensive midfielder who are capable of getting a clean sheet.

If we had different ownership we could be successful.

There is nothing in the 20+ years of Levy/Enic to suggest we will ever be successful with them here.

Wasn't the goal a nice epitome of most of the things that are wrong under Ange?

-A fullback receiving the ball, with his back towards the goal, in the middle of opposition's half for no good reason
-No central midfielder staying back and providing cover just in case there's a turnover and they try breaking through in transition
-Aforementioned fullback indeed turns it over, they indeed get out in transition
-A drill-like break leads to a simple goal

Who hasn't seen that coming?
Good post and a very accurate description of everything wrong with our style. We were underdogs today according to all bookmakers. Going away to an in form team after coming of our own heavy loss..

Any other coach would be trying to keep it tight and putting a huge emphasis on discipline and having bodies back. Nearly trying to frustrate them and the crowd while waiting for your own purple patch to hurt them..

But no, we go there, keep the ball, have fullbacks inverting and everyone gambling on the ball. We gave them a soft goal and that was it. Goodnight Irene. The time waisiting started, the ref listened to the crown and the walls closed in.. Another 1-0 defeat away from home

I don't believe for one second, and that's the sad bit. I think we could very easily be successful. It's not the impossibility that some believe.

I sussed us tactically after 15 odd games of last season. The squad balance is full of mistakes and ironically the rebuild has simply been sidetracked by appointing an under qualified coach. The scouting is still patchy and the lazy disconnect between buying fir the development squad and the starting eleven was exacerbated by Ange colluding with the idea Bergvall is a first team buy. This can be fixed. I'll take a bit of time in the next day to properly outline how. But we should appoint an interim coach with EPL experience in the next 24 hours if that's Potter so be it.
This.

Being owned by ENIC is going to kneecap us about how successful that we can be. Levy is never going to give us the funds to seriously challenge for the league title. BUT, he does give us enough funding that we can consistently challenge for top 4 and go far in the cups. So there definitely is potential and room to be successful at Spurs.

We need to sharpen up the scouting and recruiting (which both Paratici and Lange have said that they want to do). And we need a manager that is flexible and able to work with what he gets and is able to make a unit stronger than the individuals.

Long story short, we can be successful, even if it may not be the success that fans clamour for.

Average performance but I've seen worse this season.

What is a bit concerning is the goals we concede are 2-3 variations on the same theme (cough up ball on transition, fast counter, CB loses man, ball in net). Ouch.

This is one of the worst sets of wingers in the league. Solanke is a good player.

It’s not as simple as replacing all the defenders to improve the defense. If we had a more defensive style, our attackers would be absolutely exposed.

Mason is shit and let's be real he isn't doing anything with this team anymore than Ange currently is, it's a desperation shout just because you want the manager gone, nothing else.

Better writing off the season with Ange in charge than putting Mason in for the remainder IMO.
When you say write off the season where would you think we will finish on our current run that more or less goes back for a year now ?.All the injuries are hitting us bad of course but we have still lost a lot of games with our supposed best team out ,that for me is a big concern .
