I honestly think Nuno was suffering from burn out from his tenure at Wolves and needed some time out before he took another managerial position. In most press conferences etc, to me he just looked glum, passive aggressive and robotic.

He's a manager slightly lacking in charisma, going to a club with lots of players with big egos and most feeling they're better than they actually are. So yeah, the guy needed a break, an attacking mid, a few players sold (alli, winks etc) an ok back up striker and some more time, and things might of worked out quite different in how quickly he was able to establish his old identity.
He was a goalie and a shit one at that. Wolves have had some excellent players at his disposal and they still tanked

Just watching the wolves game and the diff in style between how they play and how we play is chalk and cheese. Purposeful , pacy and inventive everything we were not under Nuno. Amazing how a new manager after just 9 games can instill an attacking style of play. Why couldn’t Nuno do the same with us?

Because he's not an attacking coach...

He was out of his depth and overwhelmed by the size of the job. He could go and do a good job somewhere else, the way David Moyes is now with the Spammers after his short sojourn at Old Trafford. I hope he does bounce back. He’s a decent fellow.

I do feel a degree of sympathy for him. Our players are in the main just a horrible shower and did their utmost to undermine him from Day 1. Whoever comes in has to just shred that squad. Quite apart from the fact, they’re not very good, it’s just full of players of questionable character and temperament.

Hopefully in the future the next black manager we hire isn't treated in such discriminatory manner.

Meme Wtf GIF

The whole notion of Nuno being a black manager seems to have gone almost entirely un-discussed which is a little odd.

It doesn’t seem to be something Nuno himself seeks to discuss, which is his right I suppose.

And he of course identifies as Portuguese and played internationally for Portugal despite being born and raised in then-independent Sao Tome and Principe.

Well, we hardly knew ye on that and many other levels.

Sad for him, but his football was dull. I guess it’s the difference between coaching a mid-table team with mid-table players and a team with the pressure of crazy expectations. Rightly or wrongly, Levy et al clearly expect to be back at the top table soon enough and the pressure of that means little or no sympathy.

Unlike most here, I had time for Jose, but he clearly got a lot longer than Nuno based on reputation rather than results.

If it is Conte, he’ll probably also have high expectations (though where to go from there is another question…?)

Maybe he doesn’t view it as a thing, I think he maybe mixed race or whatever, no one cares. He’s a nice guy just not a top manager.

At worst this would be proof that Paratici is a man with a huge ego who now has massive power at the club, nothing here suggests discrimination unless you're making tremendous leaps in logic, which you should never, ever do with those kind of accusations.
Could you imagine a meeting between Conte, Levy and Paratici? How could you squeeze all that self-importance into the same room.

Genuinely hadn't even crossed my mind.

I think most people don't give a fuck what colour he is tbh.

The club made sure to bring it up for some diversity thing recently funnily enough.

I assume that’s the way he wants it.
