I see that Awoniyi, the player at the centre of this row is in an induced coma in hospital after the incident. Thoughts with him and his family, and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Crikey, imagine having players who are so committed they run into posts for the shirt …

Very rich men tend not to give 2 fucks about what they wear or look like.

Being very rich is already the achievement.
It's less of an achievement when it's inherited wealth, like his.

Wealth builders do tend to give 2 fucks about what they look like - they're aware of the importance of making good impressions, how making good impressions lead to opportunities. That doesn't mean that they wear Versace, but you rarely see them looking like slobs.

Wealth inheiters tend not to give 2 fucks about what they look like because they've never needed to make an impression upon anyone in their life.

Now out of the induced coma, and I *think* the surgery has been completed.
Apparently he ruptured his intestine. He literally bust a gut trying to reach the cross.

Stupid thing is, it was one of those offsides where the lino kept his flag down. Was always going to happen where a serious injury was caused thanks to this ruling.

On another note, apprently the surgery he had has a 9% mortality rate, although obviously that's made up mostly of older, unfit individuals with other pre-existing conditions. But it certainly wasn't a "small" operation. Sounds like they left the wound open, for a couple of days, I guess in order to check that they had successfully repaired the damage which in itself is potentially life threatening.

Glad he seems to have come through it all OK and hope he can get back on the pitch in a reasonable time frame.

Got that dreaded contract extension apparently, which is usually a death knell for managers.

After a season like this he (and his agent) must've secured him a nice payout though. He should be fine.

Put him on the sack watch already, poor guy.

Between having to play 2 games a week, losing 2 of their best players, and significantly higher expectations compared to last season, odds are heavily stacked against him.

Unless Marinakis has his own drug fuelled spending spree were he raids Serie A clubs again Nuno is going to be in trouble.

They were riding their luck for the majority of last season to begin with. Most underlying metrics of theirs were portraying a mid-table team at best, not one that actually finished 7th with 65 points.

If another key player or two (notably Murillo) follow suit, it might very well be another season spent hovering around the relegation zone for them. Even relegation might be a possibility, depending on how the newcomers do.

He should be thankful for the timing of this tbh, as it allowed him to leave with a really high stock.

He was never going to come close to finishing 7th and/or getting 65 points again with how many smash and grab wins they had in the process.

Harsh on him but he's a decent manager for a mid sized club and he'll land up somewhere, as the geezer above me says his stock will be at an all time high. Despite stumbling at the end of last season they had no right to be challenging for CL places last season.

I think Forest will rue this particular change

I dont like the blokes football but he seems a really good guy and is a decent prem manager. Certainly deserved better than the way he was treated with us and then Forest.
Spot on.

Nuno is a very nice, humble man, much warmer than at first glance. And he's a very good PL manager, his football just ain't the sexiest.

Levy did him proper dirty and Mr Marinakis is just an absolute disgrace.

Sacking Nuno to replace him with that rude, obnoxious, clueless muppet...fuck me. Poor Forest fans.
