Those are relegation numbers. It’s truly horrible for a team with Kane and Son to be last in shots and shots created and chances created in open play, but to also be last in pressure % and 19th in shots allowed shows that the team has no identity or organization.
If you are going to be defensive, be defensive. If you want to press and attack like Leeds, ok. But to always have too much space between lines so that you can’t defend or create chances is inexcusable.
I’ve thought it’s funny that fans would be calling for a new coach’s head after 5 or 6 matches, but these numbers are huge warning signs. Our squad isn’t great, but it’s better than relegation numbers.
These next couple of matches are criticism for NES. He needs to figure out what the team’s identity is, and get them organized, because if we can’t beat Ings-less Villa or Newcastle after the worst three game stretch in decades, then the pressure will be heavy on Mr Complacent Levy to try something to bring the team an identity.
