If he can't motivate players for a NLD there isn't much hope. Of course the players should be up for it whoever is in charge but sadly doesn't seem to work that way, they need leadership.

He did motivate them, they followed his tactical instructions. Don’t blame the players, he clearly asked then to hit it long, bypass the midfield and gamble on knock downs. They did that

Hate to be that guy, but I said off the back of 3 x 1-0 wins that we actually looked shit and only won because the 3 teams we beat couldn't finish their dinner on the day. I actually said something to the effect of "when the goals go in and we get tonked 3-0 by a lesser team the wheels will fall off"
And furthermore, said people will have to be mentally prepared for it.

Played out exactly that way. Lost 3-0 to Palace. Whole house falls down immediately. No wins in 90 minutes in 5 matches. 15 goals conceded in 3 competitions.

Shit squad.
Shit coach.
Shit cunt chairman.

It was obvious for anyone with eyes that it wouldn't last. Football fans love to say '3 points is what matters' but long term you need a style of football which means you're consistently creating more chances than the opposition do. If you don't have that, you won't win enough games.

It was the same during the purple patch under Jose, although lots of our fans were getting dizzy. We were definitely better then than we have been so far this season, but we were still clearly massively overachieving points wise. People hate xG but it's incredibly accurate over a long term basis, and then and now most teams we play have a better xG than we do.

I hope in future people can look past results at times. It needs to be more about whether the managers vision is right for Spurs, and whether the players are buying in to said vision, and showing that on the pitch. Poch struggled results wise first season but I saw so much evidence the players bought in to it, and the ones who didn't we moved on.

I'm sure under someone like Potter we will get some bad results and the transition will be painful. But if change is happening and the players are responding I'm happy, and I think most of our decent fans will be too. Fact is most of us aren't anti-Nuno because we're impatient kneejerkers, we just didn't want him in the first place and our doubts are being confirmed.

I agree. He hasn’t lost the dressing room yet. They are doing what he’s asking them, we can see that. It’s just what he’s asking them to do is shit. We know this lot are pretty weak so it won’t take too many more games for the snakes to come out.

A squad full of internationals do not become bad players overnight. Our players do not move into space and call for the ball so the player in possession has somewhere to pass it. We don’t move away from the opposition players so the only safe pass is backwards or sideways. Our players are easily marked out of the game so they don’t have to take responsibility. Lucas Moura is the only one who gets the ball and tries to take on the opposition. If I take the safe pass then my pass rate is good and it makes me look like I tried

Ryan Mason on insta. OMG IT'S HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????!??!?!?!?!?!?!?

nunos problem is that he let kane back into the team. without him we were 2-0 (although he played a few minutes against wolves). people forget this. then you drag a pos like kane who does not care about his team mates, the fans or anything but his city salary and glory that didn't materialize. it is obvious that it is not going to work out. if he has some balls he will leave kane out of it and i think he will do well. if not, he must leave.

If you've shipped 9 goals in 3 games it makes sense to "shore up the defence".

Hugo
Romero, Sanchez, Dier
Emerson, Pierre, Skipp, Reguilon
Tanguy
Kane, Son
Emerson can be switched out for Tanganga. And Tanguy or Son can be switched out for Gil. But some form of variation of that is probably our strongest 11 right now.

We can put them in different positions, but I don't have any faith in the 8 outfield players between Hugo and Kane/Son. That's our problem. But at least changing Nuno out for a better coach should steady the ship. That's about the best we are going to do this season.
