Yes, but that was strategic. It would have made firing Mourinho more difficult if he went out and won a trophy. He had to be stopped before he won some hardware. :)
I wanted Jose out weeks before the final but to do it when he did was a disgrace. He should have let him manage the final, Mason was never going to win it. He could have sacked Jose without any trouble if he won the cup, he just would have had to pay a bit more. He choose to save money rather than win a trophy, for me that’s unforgivable.

Ryan Mason on insta. OMG IT'S HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????!??!?!?!?!?!?!?

Jesus this would be the end of THFC as we know it

Agree but there’s another very important differentiator - the club is broader than the first 11. I strongly believe our non football staff are fractured from top to bottom. Yesterday’s Telegraph alluded to it, don’t underestimate the impact of that the overall vibe - couple that with snakes like Paratici and that bald scout divkhead scrambling to save their jobs and undermine the manager and it’s toxic. Brighton is the opposite
I agree it’s high time for ENIC and Levy to go but I don’t suppose they made Nuno drop Skipp and play Ali yet again on Sunday. And I don’t suppose they made Nuno keep the team unchanged (sending off aside) on the pitch for the full 90 minute shit show against Palace when everyone to a man could see it wasn’t working. He is clueless and I still believe a manager worth his salt (like Potter) could do far better even with the off the pitch issues.

I slipped into one of the goons forums that night. While they were obviously happy, most were not getting carried away with the result. They seemed to be accepting of the fact that we were utterly shite so gloating wasn't entirely necessary.

Maybe not directly but they have appointed a cautious manager then told him he has to play expansive football which goes totally against what he's done in his managerial career to date. He's now flailing around trying to pick attacking players to please the owners but doesnt have a clue when and how to do it. Levy ultimately appointed him and Paratici and the buck stops with him.

Then perhaps Nuno should be the bigger man and resign so someone who does have a clue can take over (Like that will ever happen!)

Those days are gone now and I can’t remember the last manager to resign when there’s so much money they’d lose

Usually it’s the ‘by mutual agreement’ announcement

I agree, he should resign. But who wants to work with Levy? We saw only a few weeks ago there arent many really good managers willing to risk their careers with the under investment and interference from above, telling him which players cant be sold. The whole club is a mess. Sure we can certainly get a better, more suited manager and they may even get us in or around 6th but the underlying problems will remain.

Surely the SAME problems couldn’t all be down to Poch for 18 months, Jose for two years, Mason for half a year and Nuno for three months?

There’s a few common denominators in our club.
It wasn’t ALL Sissoko, Winks, Davies, Aurier and Rose either.

So who’s left?
Levy and Kane are the the two most influential people at the club and the two biggest underperformers.

Put this on Nuno and you’re in for a surpirse when “insert name” takes over and we’re still shite.

I can assure you Haaland would improve us.
So would Vardy

Yeah……hence it’s not Nuno that needs to leave, it’s Harry Kane and Levy

We aren’t getting Haaland if Kane leaves though. We aren’t even getting Vardy.

(I pretty much agree with your post though, it’s just Haaland upgrades basically every team in world football).

Nuno still needs to leave though. Mediocre manager who favours a defensive style. Not the man to take us forward.

I’m also beginning to think Scott Parker wouldn’t have been a bad option.

Got Bournemouth top despite losing their best player in Danjuma. Added a lot of grit and tenacity to their game.

Hardly an inspiring choice but almost certainly would have taken the job.

Is a poisoned chalice for sure.
If we sack Nuno we need to get someone in who is used to dealing with the chaos and upheaval that seems to be going on. Someone like Valverde who survived for 3 years at a chaotic Barcelona. Or even Ranieri who's handled chaos like this at multiple clubs. Someone like Eddie Howe would probably get eaten alive. But we would play fun football during his short stint.

Or we need to just go full youth movement if we go for someone like Howe. Full rebuild. Bye bye Harry.
