Can’t fix recruitment until we figure out what we are for!

Liverpool every player fits Klopp’s system, we have some very good players but you wouldn’t say our squad is built for anything. We are like a car where someone has just grabbed a load of parts but didn’t know if they can be fitted together or even what the finished car will be.

Decide on the manager and philosophy then buy and sell to build a team that is perfectly fitted to it. Takes time, it’s a project. It’s why Nuno was such a bad appointment, forget the short term he was never going to be long term, he was just a temp. Nuno’s appointment feels more like a favour to Jorge Mendes like the Gedson Fernandes loan.

We spent nearly 50 on Aurier & Sissoko and ended the formers contract and got barely pennies to shift the other. Even many I haven't included in the list are 'meh' and at best we'd recoup what we spent.

And we could go even further back and look at the monumental waste of money the majority of transfers we did with the Bale money were. Just years and years of incompetent, directionless transfer dealings. You could get a bunch of fans with no scouting experience to have picked out signings and the hit rate would be higher.

These guys are meant to be professionals, experts, canny businessmen etc. How in god's name are they failing this terribly?

I agree. I'm not Nuno out yet, but for the reasons you point out he and Paratici have to start showing that there is a plan. Its ok to struggle when you're trying to pivot a club and determine who does and doesn't fit.

Through 6 matches, Poch was on 8 points 2-2-2 with wins over Spam (A) and QPR (H), away draws with Sunderland and Woolwich, and home losses to Liverpool (0-3) and West Brom.

In fact, after that start he scraped Southampton then lost 3 of the next 4 and 4 of the next 7. Poch didn't really start finding some steam until December.

Nuno has some rope....but he needs to show progress in conveying at least a plan going forward.
 
Nuno is basically Mourinho with a beard and a nice personality, minus the trophies. Honestly can’t believe our incompetent chairman decided he was the right guy after his Tottenham “DNA” interview.

So the players get get to sack a third manager??? And what if they dont like the tactics or training methods of the next new manager???
