Did we? We'd conceded the same number of goals and scored 2 more. Early Poch was much more defencively focused than the football we got from 2015 on. The retrospective on Poch is, rightfully, heavily tinged by the great moments. But the club stuck by him through a rough start.

Again, not happy with Nuno and how things have gone. But sacking a manager after 9 matches is a bit much for me, especially when there's no one else to hire.

I didn't want Poch at the time.
I wasn't overly impressed with him early on.

But it was nowhere near as shit as this. I have no rose tinted glasses. His reign started and ended poorly. But there was at least some level of promise early on. The fact he had a history of playing a type of football us fans wanted was a glimmer.

We have hired a 3rd rate Mourinho after sacking Mourinho because we didn't like his brand of football.

Easy, nobody wanted the job. Nuno was the last person on the list, well not even on the list. He was just available. That's the most distressing thing about this more than anything else. We sack Nuno we can end up with someone worse rather than better.
Do you honestly believe we actually approached all of the people you read about they all turned down big money at a "big" club?

Rubbish. We fucked around, acted like complete amateurs, changed our minds and ended up looking like completely prats.
Maybe some of them actually refused a solid offer but the rest were more likely off the cuff comments to a camera rather than a job offer.

Probably because you understand the world existed before you did. That was my other description

When I was 8 (during the time of Francis) my uncle gave me one of those “history of Spurs” photo books, accompanied by match reports and player profiles.

It was basically based around 1960-91.

17 trophies and tonnes of entertainment according to the archives. Read that thing cover to cover. Those are the standards I hold the club to.

God knows who should or could come in now. We burnt bridges with almost every credible alternative in our most recent summer of shame. You’d have to be fucking desperate to come to us.

So that means Nuno was quite high up the list, if true , which I don’t believe, but that is even worse.

It’s funny because chelsea and Watford sack managers all the time and they both always seem to find someone.

Just watching motd2 analysis of Liverpool and they use the phrase “they look like a well coached team” many times. Kloop changed a few players today but they can slot in seamlessly as they all know what they have to do as they have a distinct pattern of play. Whereas we have no style or pattern and very little coaching.

People said it was only Vitesse when I said it was lunacy to not bring most the squad and that it signalled that no player who was playing on Thursday had a chance at playing this weekend. Then we have a lacklustre performance by our first 11 who could not be risked. Nuno is a complete doughnut and should never have been employed. The fact is Levy is clueless about everything relating to football but I am seriously questioning how he thought this would not be a disaster of an appointment.

Yep, Klopp when he came in immediately started working on their style of play. It took them a while to get competitive and they had some bad results, but the changes came fast. Even when they lost quality and replace it with guys like Origi they can still get results because the system is golden and everyone knows their role. They came back to beat Barca 4-0 with a front 3 of Shaqiri/Origi/Mane with Milner and Henderson in midfield.

This is what top coaches do, they elevate players and find the roles which suit them, those with limitations have said limitations covered for. Anyone here think a midfield of Milner-Henderson-Keita would look good under Nuno? Klopp makes it work. Same story with Ole, they have personnel issues but a top manager could work with those, he can't because he doesn't have the nous.
