It really doesn’t matter who the next manager will be, they’re not miracle workers. Even a top manager can only do so much with a squad full of average & below average players. Years of under investment & poor purchases have got us where we are today & the buck stops at the very top

Piss off. Squad is not average. He's making them look average. Squad is the 5th best in the league, he's making them look 15th best (at best).

In my opinion, we have a squad full of very average players. You obviously think differently👍
This is my post from yesterday evening.
Let's see:

- A World Cup winning captain, possibly top 3 goalies in the Premier League.
- La Liga's LB of the season when we bought him.
- Serie A's defender of the season.
- A Brazil international, that was extremely promising and would start at Barca if they had any money.
- A Euro 2020 team of the tournament midfielder.
- A Copa America winner, that looked impressive in the process.
- A midfielder that Conte himself wanted at Inter for 2 years running.
- A workhorse that while he might lack a bit in quality, he makes up for it in fight and determination, a bit like Moses at Chelsea.

That's 8 players, without Son and Kane, and I haven't included players like Skipp, Gil etc. simply because they are too young. Squad needs work, but it's not a shit squad to begin with. It's a squad that lacks depth, but Conte was never one to use a lot of players, so that argument fails.
Not very average if you look at it is it?

I think there is two things here.

1 lack of depth, we have 11-14 decent/ok players on paper but in certain positions no cover/comeptition

2 our coaching is probably the worst in the league, 20th, bottom, shit. We have dino tactics.

Take Royal, Romero, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Kane, Son, Lucas, Regulion, Lloris, Ndombele, Lo Celso and give them to Brighton or Brentford and they would play them and win with them.

Brightons pressing would die though if they played Kane.

Their other players would cover and Kane unlike Maupey can finish. Kane would be there to convert their XG/chances they make into goals, something they struggle with. For games that require hard pressing they can bench him.
Most games require higher workrates nowadays. Yesterday Salah was defending near his own box at times, and mane cleared a header in his own box (from normal play not a corner). Very rarely do you seee Kane running back hard to defend like his life depended on it.

It really irritates me how I could always see and say that Nuno wasn’t going to work out just by watching football and the cunts in charge earning millions couldn’t see the same as me, a cunt watching at home knows.
Those Nuno Valencia highlights Paratici put together must have been epic. It was probably about 90 seconds long and showed the only good 4 goals that squad scored under Nuno.

True although Ronaldo doesn’t do much. If you are the number 9 and you are an outstanding finisher there is always give. Brighton lack a proper goal scorer, if they had one top 4 would be very possible, even higher 2-3rd. They are a fantastic team in how they play, they just need extra quality for all the chances they generate.

Ronaldo can get away with it though. Theres no one like him. I do think Kane affects our ability to control games negatively rather than positively due to his lack of movement. Of course nuno's tictacs make things worse.

Haha if true, and i was Conte, i would be putting an extra 2M per year on my wage demands.
I'm genuinely curious what actually happened in May with Conte.

If it really was some details (salary, staff, etc..) that was holding up the deal, and Conte still wants to come here for reasons that will only be known to him, then Levy is even dumber than I imagined.

At least if Conte just said "no I'm not going to Spurs" than fair enough, but if there was a chance to get him in May and Levy didn't, I just don't understand why. The guy nearly fell over himself firing Poch to get Mourinho of all people in the door, but he's not willing to do a bit extra to get Conte in?

Because Conte would demand we spend on transfers. Nuno was just happy to get the job and be controlled by levy.
