Ex-Spurs Player Oliver Skipp

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Why when bentancur, bissouma, sarr and maddison have been consistently poor in the middle has he been given no fucking chance at all.

By default he should start because our better players in the first half of the season don't look comfortable on the ball.

Ange treated him as if he was unwanted all year and immediately comes in and proves him wrong. Gio looks like he could have done the same. But it's Levy's fault apparently.

Not sure I agree that he wasn't given chances.

He started our opening game of the season and wasn't that good. Was replaced by Sarr who for the first half of the season was one of our best players..

He then got given a massive chance and started 5 games on the bounce in the middle of the season, again didn't really do much outside of a really decent half against Man Utd and then he's recently been out injured.

The sooner modern day managers move away from set positions and instead play footballers based on where their profiles suit, the better. Skipp is the right profile for an inverted full back. He's relatively switched on defensively and is a midfielder by trade so is comfortable coming inside. I don't know if that'll be his position beyond the end of this season but after today he's earned the right to preform there for the remaining games.

I think being HG and club trained means keeping him is sensible, even if he sees limited game time next season.

But with 3 to go and nowt to play for, why not give him some minutes regardless of what we do next season: either helps us get a bit of cash if we do sell or keeps him happier if he stays

Would be quite a nice plot-twist if it turned out Skippy found a niche for himself in the FB/Aux-MFer role.

Let him run with it til the end of the season.... Nothing to lose.

Quite interesting seeing how this will go actually.

Hopefully he can do well enough at LB to warrant him being possible back up for several midfield roles and the fullback spots.

Having a versatile HG player being able to cover several spots from the bench is very valuable. Much easier to keep them in match shape and happy as well.

Skipp is a defensive minded midfielder who is quite mobile and as we play midfielder like full backs it could work. Would be nice if Skipp turned into our fill in the holes John O’Shea type player.
