Match Olympique de Marseille VS Tottenham Hotspur. Tuesday 1st November. UEFA Champions League. 8PM KO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Sorry but lucus has been absolutely awful. He just runs into people constantly, loses the ball and offers nothing. Has to be Gil for me. At no point should we park the bus. Chase a goal..then chase another. We cannot just sit on a. 1-0 because we WILL concede and it's a nervy finish

I think Gil can handle a Ligue 1 team like Marseille. We need his creativity and his passion for this game. Bring on Moura when Marseille are tiring.

Maybe Lucus running into people is what we need. We have shown that we simply cannot score from open play, but are strong from set pieces.

Whilst Lucas and Gil are both good at running at opposition players to draw a foul; Lucas is also good in the air (despite his height) and is more likely to knock down long balls to Kane.

I think what I find most peculiar is how much other teams seem to have players who actively want to put one over us. So bizarre.

I remember how Hazard nearly always stepped up even more agaibst us and so many others.

We have a aesk underbelly but showed grit against Sporting Lisbon and again on Saturday. Good signs.

Whether that is enough tonight we shall see but we have to be clinical up top and composed and compact in defence. Mostly though we have to have strength of mind..

Time to do what Royal Mail won't be doing too much of in the coming days.

I know this will get a barrage of hate on here but I am thoroughly underwhelmed with Romero at this point

Yeah he's our best CB , a very low bar mind

But he's constantly injured and has been no great shakes when he's actually been on the pitch in recent months
His almost looked lazy and lacidaosical. He so annoys me when he has the ball and moves slower than a snail.

What posting letters and Domino's flyers through letter boxes?
So you find it strange that teams we play against pick players who want their team to win the game, do you?
It's a struggle for some people to understand the complexity of football.

Fair point. I do think you tend to hear how players seem to openly want to up their games when playing against us however.

Or maybe it's that we always make it too easy for them to do just that.

I also wonder why so many times when we are beaten that the opppsitions managers say that is the best his team has played (Newcastle & Man U this season) what is it in us (that we play badly/allow them to play) or in them (they want to beat us so bad)
its not just this season been like it for years

The stadium will be a cauldron, and these guys are on a hell of a shitty run of form in their league. We need to get after them early and turn their support against them.

Admittedly this is something we've failed to do in virtually every match this season.

:contehmm:

I just don't think the so called "big teams" fear us going into a match..

More times than not, we've failed to turn up on the big occasions when we have a chance to take a big step forward.

Managers and players must know this...... I mean FFS, if the urban myth is to be believed, Fergies entire team talk at half time when Man U were 3 nil down to us was "Lads, its Spurs".... End result? 5 - 3 Man United.

That's the real risk...... How many times have we seen teams that are on a wretched run of form, put in a world class performance when we turn up to play them. Its the entire reason the phrase "Doctor Tottenham" exists!

It would be nice if we could buck the trend tonight and Sunday.

Need Bryan Gils pace and energy. Big champions league game. He’ll be up for it. Lets not play it safe. If we cant beat marseille then we dont deserve to play in CL

Its these little things, like putting Gil in there, that can be defining moments. Show a bit of confidence and life. Show faith in a youngster like Gil desperate to play. It can pay off 🙏🏼🙏🏼
