He's got 14 in the champions league, 5 v Real Madrid, 4 v Atlanta and 2 v PSG.
Those teams might not be as good as Spurs, but they're still quite decent teams.
It actually had some decent clubs in there, Celtic, Roma, Porto, Lyon, betis, fenabache but they all did horribly

Wonder when UEFA will realise they've messed it up when English sides are winning the Europa and Conference league every year? Final would have involved Forest as well if they'd avoided Villa, just like last year when 15th and 17th were in the final. Outside 4 or 5 sides, who are all in the CL, European football is dreadful
Yeah if only he got to play against proper world class teams like (checks notes) PSG or Real Madrid. He only got a paltry 6 goal contributions across 2 knockout rounds vs them this season.

Winning a trophy should come alongside doing well in the league.
Villa have qualified for the CL through the league and won a trophy. That is the sign of a serious team.
What we did last season was a fucking embarassment in the league. Finishing 17th and losing every week and winning the Europa, it's not what a team going places under a manager does.
What Villa have done combining the two is what it's about. Yeah we had a harder final, but yeah respect to Villa and Emery, that's how you do it. Win a trophy and performing in the league. Not one or the other.

Premier League is going to dominate the lower tier trophies. The gap between 6-8th in England and across the rest of Europe is just huge and will continue to be so unless the pl somehow wanes in popularity
What is UEFA supposed to do about it?
I'm usually full of ideas for these sorts of things, but I'm stumped as to what UEFA can do about the PL leaving everybody else behind. European inter-club football is premised on a parity that no longer exists and is only getting worse.
They shouldn’t have done that coefficient thing. Just rewards more PL teams
