That £100 million was our bale/caulker money not to mention we lost modric the season before, even if we spent the money well we would be in no position for a title challenge. Our net spend is close to zero over the last 5-10 years, man city and Chelsea's is many hundreds of millions.

Thing is as well many of the players we bought are very young like eriksen and lamela they are players with great potential who are no where near their best yet. Unless we were willing to spend say £300 million after bale went on the likes of robben, schweistieger and so on we were never going to match city.
Most clubs that sell their best players always replace them with 3-4 players who might become great which takes a lot of time.
Rogers has learned the hard way, also being fucked in that Sturridge has been injured most of this season and balotelli and lambert are not in the same league.
I agree they want hit the self destruct button, but they are currently being investigated for breaking FFP rules, so transfer dealings may be marginal and add into the mix that they are still massively in debt and are about to embark on building a new stand, I think they don't have much room to move.i understand what yall are saying an all but he won't get the axe anytime soon and the scousers will keep spending until they get it right
